Fatigue that would not go away

It started inconspicuously. Susie was quieter than usual. She reported to her parents more often that she was tired, insisting on going to bed earlier. The parents thought it was a temporary weakness, but more days passed and their daughter's condition did not improve. Apathy, lack of strength, increasing withdrawal - all this caused concern. For a long time, doctors were unable to make an accurate diagnosis.

The diagnosis that turned everything upside down

It wasn't until December 2022 that we were able to determine what was really going on in Zuzi's body. The diagnosis sounded foreign but hard - hypoplastic myelodysplastic syndrome. At one point, everything became both clear and more difficult at the same time.
The search for an unrelated bone marrow donor began, as the only chance to stop the disease.
Fortunately, after two months, one was found. Zuzia is now in the process of preparing for the transplant.
