A lump that turned out to be something much more serious
It all started with a lump that Agnieszka initially mistook for a harmless growth she had experienced years earlier. Unfortunately, the growth quickly grew to a large size. In August 2025, the tumor was removed, and in September, she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the external genitalia. Agnieszka was referred to the National Institute of Oncology in Warsaw, where another extensive surgery was necessary.
Extensive treatment and its consequences
Agnieszka underwent grueling treatment: two surgeries and many cycles of chemotherapy. The treatment took a heavy toll on her body, and along the way, she also developed a serious complication in the form of a pulmonary embolism. The most serious long-term consequence, however, is neuropathy, which makes it extremely difficult for Agnieszka to walk; for this reason, she remains under the care of a neurologist and a pain management clinic. There were days after chemotherapy when she was so weak that she slept almost constantly. This shows just how much this battle has taken out of her.
A single mother and her daughter
Agnieszka lives with her 15-year-old daughter. She is most worried about her daughter, who has had to take on many daily responsibilities. For Agnieszka, who loves to cook, it’s especially painful that, because of her illness, she hasn’t been able to prepare a real home-cooked dinner for her daughter in a long time. As soon as she has a better day, she heads to the kitchen. Despite everything, Agnieszka remains a person full of positivity and faith that better days are ahead.
A passion that brings joy
Agnieszka’s greatest passion is cooking—especially Mexican and Asian cuisine. She’s also interested in ancient and pre-Columbian history, and Mexico is her favorite place in the world. It’s these passions that give her energy and remind her of the life she longs to return to with all her heart—a life full of flavors, curiosity about the world, and shared moments with her daughter around the table.
Let's help Agnieszka get her strength back
The funds raised will go toward medication, rehabilitation, and her daily living expenses while Agnieszka is unable to work. Every donation provides her with real relief and a chance to focus on regaining her strength. Let’s help her regain her strength and return to what she loves most: cooking for her daughter and enjoying those simple, shared moments that they both need so much.
