First, I started having unusual bleeding. Then came an urgent visit to a gynecologic oncologist, a biopsy, and waiting for the results. At the end of August, I received the diagnosis: cancer. I’m trying to live a normal life, balancing treatment with work, but I’m worried about the future. I also know that the disease is more aggressive than I thought, as it has metastasized to my lungs.

It started with some concerning bleeding

In July 2025, my life changed dramatically. I started experiencing abnormal bleeding, which forced me to make an urgent appointment with a gynecologic oncologist. Just a few days later, tissue samples were taken from my cervix. By the end of August, the results of the histopathological examination came back, along with the diagnosis: cervical cancer, initially at stage IIIC1.

In early September, a full diagnostic workup began, and a decision was made regarding treatment. I didn’t have time to calmly come to terms with what was happening. I had to take action.

A difficult and exhausting treatment

In mid-October, I began radical treatment. I underwent 25 sessions of radiation therapy interspersed with four rounds of chemotherapy. It was a very demanding treatment, physically taxing and fraught with side effects. In December, I had three more hospital stays, during which the next phase of treatment—brachytherapy—was administered.

The treatment has left its mark. I’m struggling with abdominal pain and problems with my stomach, intestines, and liver. On top of that, I’m dealing with chronic fatigue, muscle pain, weight loss, and a lack of appetite.

The disease affected the lungs

A follow-up CT scan revealed suspected metastases. A PET scan confirmed that the disease had spread to my lungs. I have already undergone lung surgery. In May, I underwent an open lung biopsy—a segmentectomy of the fourth segment of the left lung. The intraoperative findings confirmed that it was lung cancer. This is another cancer, following the cervical cancer, likely a metastasis. Additionally, follow-up PET and ultrasound scans also showed suspected metastases to the liver.

This means another break from work. I’m still working because I have to make a living, but I know that soon I’ll be cut off from this life again for many weeks. It’s extremely stressful for me.

My oncologist has already told me that my hair will start falling out soon. As a woman, this is an extra blow for me. Just thinking about what I’ll have to go through brings tears to my eyes.

I'm trying to live a normal life, but every day is a struggle

I live alone, though I can count on my sister’s support. She’s one of the most important people in all of this, and she really helps keep me from falling apart emotionally.

Balancing work with medical tests, doctor’s appointments, physical therapy, and medical training is very difficult. My body is exhausted, and my mind is often overwhelmed by fear. On top of that, I have stomachaches, feel sleepy, and generally don’t feel well.

I’m seeking help from specialists, including psychological support, because I know that this disease affects more than just the body. I want to fight. I want to live for my family and for the people who are there for me.

I'd like to hear the sound of the sea again

Before I got sick, staying active was important to me. I enjoyed strength training, Pilates, sports, and being active. I’m interested in aviation, and I love animals—especially cats—and the ocean.

The biggest challenge today is just to live a somewhat normal life. I’d really love to go to the seaside and listen to the sound of the waves while I still have the strength to do so. It may seem like a small dream, but when you’re sick, it’s things like that that keep you going.

Please support me

The costs of treatment, specialist visits, medications, and physical therapy are becoming increasingly difficult for me to bear. That is why I am asking you so earnestly for your help. Every donation and every kind word will mean the world to me.

I want to fight, get treatment, and get my life back on track, but I can’t do this alone. Please help me.
