The first worrying symptoms

In early October of last year, I started having stomach pain. It didn't seem like anything serious to me. I thought it was just a temporary discomfort that would go away on its own. However, when the pain didn't subside, I decided to see a doctor.

Initial suspicions pointed to the Helicobacter bacterium. However, time passed and the pain persisted. What’s more, another worrying symptom appeared: I was having increasing difficulty swallowing. Eventually, even a simple sip of water became a problem.

Diagnosis and Surgery

The diagnostic process and a series of specialized tests began. Each new test brought with it the hope that I would finally hear some good news. Instead, I received a diagnosis that I couldn’t—and didn’t want to—believe: a fibrosarcoma of the stomach that had metastasized to the peritoneum.

I didn’t have time to come to terms with the diagnosis. I underwent a 10-hour surgery during which the doctors had to remove my entire stomach and spleen, as well as part of my pancreas and gallbladder. That was the beginning of the most difficult journey I’ve ever had to face.

Difficult everyday life

After my stomach was removed, my esophagus was connected to my small intestine. I don't feel hungry the way I used to, so every day I have to make a conscious effort to remember to eat regularly.

I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. The treatment is very demanding, and I feel its effects every day. I am struggling with digestive problems, significant weight loss, and fatigue. I often lack the strength even for the simplest tasks, which I was able to perform without the slightest effort just a short time ago.

My family and friends are very supportive of me

In these most difficult moments, I am not alone. My husband, children, and parents are by my side every day. They support me, encourage me, and help me get through moments of doubt. My friends also give me tremendous strength; they keep me from losing hope.

Before I got sick, I loved going for walks. Being close to nature allowed me to relax and enjoy every moment. I loved traveling and spending time with my husband and children. Conversations, laughter, and ordinary family moments were part of my everyday life.

I need some help

I am currently unable to work due to my health. My treatment and the associated expenses are a huge burden on our family. Unfortunately, they are beyond our means, which is why I am asking with all my heart for support for my treatment. Every bit of help gives me a chance to continue my therapy.

Thank you for all the help, kind words, and support you've given me.
