Symptoms that do not have a single cause
Petechiae, unexplained bruises, high fever, pallor, and bleeding from the mouth. The symptoms appeared one after another, but did not point to a single diagnosis. Each subsequent test ruled out further possibilities, but did not provide an answer.
When the body stops functioning properly, a diagnosis is needed
The diagnosis was identified as undifferentiated aplastic anemia. This means that the bone marrow is not producing a normal number of blood cells. The cause of this condition has not yet been determined. This affects the treatment approach. At this stage, it is not possible to implement causal therapy.

Today, treatment focuses on maintaining bodily functions
Zosia requires regular transfusions of platelets and red blood cell concentrates. These help maintain her vital signs, but they do not halt the disease process itself. At the same time, diagnostic tests are being conducted, including bone marrow tests, to determine the course of further treatment. An additional complication is a Mycoplasma infection, which requires constant monitoring in this situation.
Everyday life begins to depend on test results
At first, Zosia was in the hospital. She is currently at home, but her condition requires constant monitoring. Any deterioration in her vital signs means she must return to the hospital. A quick response is crucial .

A child's life must be put on hold when medical treatment requires it
Horseback riding, swimming, singing, and playing with other children were all part of Zosia’s daily life. Today, these activities are limited by her health, but they remain important to her.
The most important answer has still not been given
The diagnostic process is ongoing. The results will determine the course of further treatment and the decisions that will shape the coming months. The costs include diagnostics, treatment, hospital stays, and travel expenses.
