A diagnosis that is hard to accept
Some time ago, I received a diagnosis that brought my world to a standstill. I was diagnosed with a glioma at the optic chiasm. The tumor is located in an extremely delicate area. It is pressing on the pituitary funnel and the hypothalamus.
Due to the tumor's location, surgery carries too high a risk of vision loss. Therefore, I have not undergone any surgery at this time. However, I have started steroid treatment.
Research
Today I’m waiting for the results of my genetic testing. The doctors suspect I have the NF1 genetic mutation. The wait is hard; every day brings new questions, and the answers still haven’t come.
Support from loved ones
In these difficult times, I’m not alone. Every day, my boyfriend is a huge source of support; with patience and care, he helps me with my daily responsibilities. He makes me feel safe and reminds me that I don’t have to carry everything on my own.
My grandmother plays an equally important role. Her presence and kind words make even the hardest days easier to get through. Thanks to their support, I feel like I have people by my side whom I can always count on.
Stress and Tension
My illness keeps me in a constant state of tension. Every day brings uncertainty, and every headache, every time I feel unwell, or even the slightest change requires me to check if everything is okay. This constant vigilance is very exhausting.
Trying to balance this with everyday life is a huge challenge. Work responsibilities, school, pursuing personal interests, and relationships with loved ones often take a back seat when anxiety and stress take control of daily life.
Art and Law
My greatest passion is drawing and painting. Creating art allows me to escape from my everyday worries, even if just for a moment, to sort through my emotions, and to find peace. I also enjoy expanding my knowledge of law.
Please support me
Fighting this disease isn't just about daily struggles, uncertainty, and a tremendous emotional burden. It also involves high costs for treatment, tests, consultations, and all the steps that give me a chance to improve my health and have a more peaceful future.
My expenses are rising every month, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to cover them. That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your support. Any help you can provide is incredibly important to me as I navigate this difficult journey.
