"I couldn't believe it was really happening. As if one cancer wasn't enough."
Onset of illness

The curettage procedure performed in July 2025 was supposed to be a routine procedure. The material sent for histopathological examination did not raise any particular concerns at the time. Fear only arose when the results came back. Malignant sarcoma of the uterine body was detected in the removed fibroid.

The decision to treat was immediate. It was necessary to remove the uterus.

August and September 2025 were marked by further operations. First a hysterectomy, then removal of the uterine body, appendages, and lymph nodes. Two extensive operations performed month after month. The wound would not heal, my body was clearly weakening, and my sense of security began to crumble.

Another diagnosis

In December 2025, another completely unexpected diagnosis came. A hematological consultation revealed T-cell lymphoma of the blood, confirmed by immunophenotyping and trepanobiopsy, with rearrangement of the TRG and TRB genes. The sarcoma was not the end. The disease spread further, affecting other areas of the body.

Treatment that exhausts

Since December 2025, Stanisława has been under the constant care of hematologists and a gynecological oncologist. Every three months, she undergoes an MRI scan to check for possible metastases. At the same time, she began CHOP chemotherapy.

Stanisława has already undergone two cycles of treatment. The next one is scheduled for February 3. Ultimately, eight more cycles will be necessary, administered at intervals of twenty-one days. The therapy is essential, but each infusion places a huge strain on the body.

Extreme weakness, intestinal cramps, and drops in blood parameters are part of his everyday life. His leukocytosis, which reached 300,000 in December, has now dropped to 80,000. The cost of treatment is high and felt every day.

"Some days are better than others. But I have a tremendous will to fight. I want to fight, and I will fight."
Loss of former life

Until August 2025, Stanisława was an extremely active person. She lives on the fourth floor and, without much effort, climbed the stairs several times a day. For years, she was involved in Caritas activities, visiting the sick and supporting those in need. Helping others was a natural part of her everyday life.

Her daughter followed in her footsteps, organizing fundraisers, supporting families of children with cancer, and helping them navigate the realities of hospital life, even outside the country. Today, the roles have reversed.

"I've spent my whole life helping others. Now I'm the one who needs to ask for help."
Daily life dependent on my daughter

Stanisława is currently at home, ready to go to the hematology ward immediately if her health deteriorates. She can only count on her daughter to help her with her daily activities.

She accompanies her to every chemotherapy session, drives her to weekly blood tests, gives her injections, does her shopping, and helps her with basic activities. After gynecological surgeries, she changed her dressings several times a day, watching over her constantly.

Stanisława's husband is eighty-one years old and struggles with health problems himself. Only their daughter can provide real support.

Difficult emotions

The illness is accompanied by severe mood swings, depression, crying, and feelings of helplessness. Stanisława needs psychotherapeutic support to cope with the accumulated tension and loss of her previous independence. The most difficult thing is to come to terms with the fact that without help, she is no longer able to function independently.

What support is needed

The funds raised will be used for further treatment and daily functioning. For non-reimbursed medications, supplements, the purchase of hydrogen-oxygen therapy equipment, expensive non-reimbursed tests, including specialized tests performed partly outside the country. Rehabilitation, psychological care, visits to specialists, and transportation for chemotherapy and weekly blood tests are also necessary.

The list of needs has grown to its limits. Each item is necessary. None of them can be omitted.

Throughout her life, Stanisława was always on the side that gave support. Today, the good she has given to others over the years has a chance to come back to her.
