A strange sensation in my body

May 2024. The day started off calmly—just like any other. There was no indication that everything was about to change. I was at work when I suddenly felt something unsettling. It was as if my body had stopped responding to me. A strange sensation came over me, my vision blurred, and then I lost control of what was happening. My coworkers noticed that something was wrong and called an ambulance. It wasn’t just a bout of weakness. It was an epileptic seizure.

Diagnosis

I was taken to the hospital, where they immediately began running tests. Each new test filled me with growing fear and uncertainty. It was there in the hospital that I received the diagnosis: a malignant brain tumor. Everything happened very quickly. At the end of August 2024, I underwent surgery to remove the tumor. It lasted many hours and was extremely stressful for me—I didn’t know what condition I would wake up in or what would happen next.

Everyday challenges

I am currently at home and unable to work. The weakness in my right hand prevents me from using it normally. Even the simplest tasks require a great deal of effort, time, and concentration on my part. Daily life is very difficult for me. Many things that used to be second nature to me are now a challenge. I rely on the help of a caregiver who supports me with my daily tasks and helps me get through each day. There are days when the stress and helplessness are overwhelming. I see how much my life has changed and how many things are no longer the way they used to be.

Request for support

Despite everything, I try not to lose hope. There are moments that let me catch my breath, even if just for a moment—watching movies and TV shows or listening to music, which helps me calm down. I have a long road ahead of me in terms of rehabilitation and getting back to full health. That’s why I’m asking for your support today. Every bit of help means the world to me and gives me a chance to regain more independence.

What gives me the most strength is knowing that I'm not alone in this.
