Diagnosed in November 2025, 38-year-old Sergiusz's life, filled with music and activity, was brutally halted in an instant. Intraventricular glioma appeared suddenly and without warning, robbing him of his mobility, independence, and the everyday life he knew. What had been normal just a moment before ceased to exist in a single second.
Life-saving surgery
On November 20, 2025, Sergiusz underwent major neurosurgery. A tumor and hematoma that caused intraventricular hemorrhage were removed. The procedure was necessary to save his life.
After the surgery, he was transferred to the intensive care unit. His condition was serious. Dramatic complications arose. Sergiusz became dependent on a ventilator, and the paralysis of his limbs meant that he could no longer function independently.
A diagnosis that explains everything
The material collected during the operation underwent detailed histopathological analysis and consultation at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw. The finaldiagnosis was clear: grade IV glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of malignant glioma of the central nervous system.

The examination revealed a highly malignant tumor with extensive areas of necrosis and hemorrhaging, confirming the exceptionally dynamic and destructive nature of the disease. In order to plan further treatment, molecular testing was recommended to help determine the next steps in therapy.
Silence instead of words
Sergiusz cannot speak. He communicates by nodding his head, moving his hands, and looking at people. He has a tracheostomy, which is a huge psychological burden for him. The tube irritates him, causes frustration, and he repeatedly tries to remove it. It is a daily struggle not only for his body, but also for his psyche.
ZOL. A place that offers no hope
Since December 4, 2025, Sergiusz has been staying in a care and treatment facility. This is not a place for intensive rehabilitation or a real fight to regain fitness. All around him are patients in a coma, silence, and stillness. There is a lack of systematic rehabilitation, stimuli, and physical activity, which are crucial in his condition.
Who he was before his illness
Sergiusz loved music. He is an acoustician, played the guitar, sound was his language and a way of expressing himself. He enjoyed cycling, movement, space, and freedom. Today, his world is limited to his bed, medical equipment, and a silent struggle for each new day.
Please help
Sergiusz requires constant care, specialized rehabilitation, treatment, medical equipment, and support in his daily functioning. His illness has robbed him of the ability to live independently. Without outside help, the fight for any improvement in his health becomes impossible.
