The headaches were becoming more and more frequent. At first, no one suspected that these symptoms were a sign of a life-threatening illness. When Sebastian’s parents heard the diagnosis—a malignant brain tumor—their world fell apart in an instant. From that moment on, the boy’s daily life was filled with hospitals, surgeries, radiation therapy, and grueling treatment, all with one goal: to save his life.
The diagnosis that came suddenly
In March, he began experiencing severe headaches. His parents searched for the cause of his symptoms and took him to see specialists. Unfortunately, further tests yielded a devastating result. On September 26, 2025, Sebastian was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, specifically a medulloblastoma located in the cerebellum and within the fourth ventricle. For the family, this marked the beginning of a time of immense fear, uncertainty, and a fight for their child’s health.
Surgery and very intensive treatment
Just a few days after his diagnosis, on September 30, 2025, Sebastian underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. It was an extremely difficult time for the entire family, who waited with great anxiety for each subsequent stage of treatment. The boy then underwent intensive cancer treatment from October 2025 to January 2026. In November, it was also necessary to implant a VP port.
The next stage was proton therapy targeting the brain and spinal cord. The radiation therapy lasted from late December through March 2026 and took a heavy toll on Sebastian’s body. The boy is currently undergoing maintenance chemotherapy. This means a continued struggle, more hospital visits, and the need for constant monitoring of his health.

The illness changed the whole family's life
Sebastian spends part of his time in the hospital, and if his test results allow it, he returns home. Every improvement is a huge relief for the family and gives them hope that the treatment is working. Sebastian’s parents are having a very hard time coping with their son’s illness. The immense stress and emotional turmoil associated with the treatment led to Sebastian’s father needing psychiatric help. Their child’s illness has also affected the family’s professional and financial situation. The need to care for their son and take medical leave has significantly reduced their income.
In addition, Sebastian’s parents are divorced and share custody. Every day, they try to balance their son’s treatment with their daily responsibilities and a difficult family situation. Sebastian’s mother also cares for a one-and-a-half-year-old child, which is a huge physical and emotional challenge.
Sebastian wants to live like his peers again
Before his illness, Sebastian loved building with blocks, playing board games, and spending time playing Minecraft. It is these ordinary childhood interests that remind the family today of what life was like before the diagnosis. Now, the most important things are treatment, rehabilitation, and regaining strength after very intensive cancer therapy.
The funds raised will go toward further treatment and costly rehabilitation, which will help Sebastian regain his strength after his difficult battle with cancer. We ask for your support for Sebastian and his family. Every bit of help gives this brave boy a better chance at recovery, a return to his childhood routine, and a life free from hospital rooms and fear of the future.
