It started with a hoarse voice, which at first seemed harmless. Over time, however, the problems began to worsen, and daily life became increasingly difficult. Today, Paweł is battling advanced laryngeal cancer, which makes even the most basic function—breathing—difficult for him. He faces a very serious operation and immense uncertainty about what his life will look like after treatment.
The diagnosis that changed my daily life
The first symptoms appeared in the summer of 2024. The hoarseness persisted for longer and longer periods and eventually began to cause concern. Further tests revealed a devastating diagnosis: advanced T4a, N2 laryngeal cancer. The tumor had spread to the vocal folds, the glottis, and the laryngeal cartilages. The disease very quickly began to affect Paweł’s daily life, robbing him of his strength and sense of security. Breathing became the most difficult task. Today, even the simplest activities require enormous effort.
The body has already been through a great deal
Paweł has also been struggling with serious health issues for years. In 2022, he underwent cervical spine surgery involving disc removal and interbody fusion. Due to nerve damage and spinal problems, he is unable to work and is on disability. In February 2025, he also underwent an orchiectomy. Now his body must face another very difficult battle—laryngeal cancer.
Fear of what lies ahead
Paweł is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove a tumor. For him and his loved ones, this is an extremely difficult time, filled with fear and uncertainty. The family does not yet know what life will be like after the surgery, what limitations will arise, or how long the recovery will take. However, it is already clear that rehabilitation, ongoing specialized care, and appropriate conditions for recovery after the surgery will be necessary.
The illness has also had a profound impact on Paweł’s mental health and that of his loved ones. Their daily lives are now dominated by the struggle to stay healthy and by their efforts to find their footing in a reality filled with stress and anxiety about the future.
He would like to regain at least a little peace of mind
Before he got sick, Paweł enjoyed cooking, building with blocks, and playing video games. Today, he has to devote most of his energy to managing his pain and breathing difficulties, as well as preparing for surgery.
The funds raised will help cover the costs of rehabilitation, psychological support, and the purchase of equipment needed after the surgery, including a humidifier and an air purifier, which will be essential during his recovery. Please support Paweł. Every contribution gives him a better chance at a more peaceful recovery, a return to health, and the ability to get through this incredibly difficult time knowing he is not alone in this.
