Mild chest pain
I’ve been battling cancer since 2017. When I first felt pain in my breast, I had no idea that this was the beginning of a journey that would dominate my life for years to come. At first, I tried to carry on as usual. But the pain wouldn’t go away. It kept coming back more and more often, making its presence felt more and more clearly.
Over time, anxiety began to plague me every day. I knew I couldn’t put off seeing a specialist any longer. I scheduled a consultation, and from that point on, everything started to happen very quickly.
More tests, a conversation with the doctor, and finally the moment when I heard the diagnosis. In an instant, my world was turned upside down. A flood of thoughts rushed through my mind, along with a single wish: to hear that everything would be all right.
Changes in my body
The doctors made one decision after another. Surgery, a biopsy of the sentinel lymph node in my right armpit, and finally the moment I feared most: the amputation of my right breast.
I remember the weight of the thoughts that kept popping into my head. I couldn’t quiet them. I had to get used to my body looking different. I had to come to terms with my new reality.
Over time, I received a prosthesis and found new hope. In December 2022, I finished hormone therapy. I truly believed that I could breathe a sigh of relief and return to the life I had before the illness.
A Broken Peace
Two years later, it all came back. The recurrence and the metastases in my right armpit shattered the peace I had so carefully built. Then came chemotherapy and its indescribable burden.
The breast implant was removed, and the lymph nodes on the right side were removed. Each step felt like saying goodbye to another part of my body. Unfortunately, it had to be done. Despite everything.
I finished radiation therapy at the end of October 2025. I am currently undergoing Kadcyla therapy.
Daily challenges
My daily life isn’t as carefree as it used to be. Tasks that once came naturally now require a tremendous amount of effort. Even simple things are a major challenge. But I’m not alone in this. My husband is by my side, day after day. He gives me incredible support.
My body stopped cooperating. Polyneuropathy, osteoarthritis, depression. Cancer robbed me of all the colors of life. All that remained was a gray, monotonous daily routine. Before I got sick, I loved exploring new places. I really enjoyed going for walks and taking trips with my family.
I need some help
I would greatly appreciate your support as I continue my treatment. Please send me your kind words and positive thoughts. Any help you can offer means the world to me.
