Onset of illness
Toward the end of 2017, Małgorzata began experiencing chest pain. It wasn’t very severe, but it wouldn’t go away, and with each passing day it became more and more noticeable. Concerned, she decided to see a doctor.
What was supposed to be just a routine checkup quickly led to further testing. Time began to pass very differently then. Much more slowly. Every hour seemed to drag on forever, and my mind was swirling with thoughts. The diagnosis was clear: malignant breast cancer in the left breast with metastases to the lymph nodes.
Quick decisions
After the diagnosis, everything started to happen very quickly. Małgorzata hadn’t even had time to come to terms with the diagnosis before she was faced with further decisions regarding her treatment.
On January 5, 2018, Małgorzata underwent a radical mastectomy of her left breast. It was one of the most difficult moments of her life, but also a necessary step in treating her illness.
Comorbidities
Małgorzata had already learned firsthand how fragile the human body can be. Her previous hemorrhagic stroke left its mark. The paralysis on the left side of her body serves as a daily reminder that even simple tasks can be a challenge. Movements that once came naturally now require a great deal of determination.
Ischemic heart disease adds to her burden, forcing her to live with constant vigilance. Despite all these limitations that unexpectedly befell Małgorzata, she keeps going. Slowly, sometimes with difficulty, but always moving forward.
The Silent Enemy
There is also a burden that isn’t immediately apparent. Depression. It’s an invisible burden that makes every day require much more inner strength.

There are, however, moments when she finds peace. Between the pages of a book, she finds peace and rest. It is a moment that allows her to take a breather from the difficulties of everyday life.
