Update
Waiting for the date
Kazimierz's health has clearly deteriorated in recent days. Today, his eyes betray fatigue and uncertainty. Each passing day brings more questions than answers. Now it all comes down to one thing: waiting. Waiting for a phone call. Waiting for a date to start chemotherapy. At times like this, time seems to pass differently, as if more slowly than usual.
By Kazimierz’s side are his beloved wife and closest family. Their presence and support are a tremendous source of strength for him today.
On behalf of Kazimierz, we kindly ask for your continued support during this difficult time. April 9, 2026Further research
The last few weeks have brought further tests and hospitalization, which have allowed for a more accurate assessment of Kazimierz's current state of health. The diagnosis is serious and requires further ongoing specialist monitoring.![]()
Fluid in the pleural cavity and changes in the lungs
One of the main issues remains the large amount of fluid in the left pleural cavity, which was the cause of shortness of breath and a decline in respiratory function. During the hospital stay, additional X-rays and a CT scan were performed, and fluid was collected for further diagnostic testing. Pulmonary function tests revealed reduced respiratory capacity, indicating that the breathing difficulties are not temporary and require ongoing supportive treatment. December 22, 2025

Diagnosis after diagnosis
Back pain, initially treated as an ordinary manageable ailment, turned out to be a signal that something much more serious was going on in Kazimierz's body. November 2018 brought a diagnosis of left kidney cancer, which required immediate surgical treatment and removal of the entire organ in a Gniezno hospital. From that moment on, a road full of medical decisions, tests and therapy began, the end of which is still not in sight.
Despite subsequent therapies, the disease did not go away
After nephrectomy, treatment of prostate cancer including biopsy, radiation therapy and hormone therapy guided by Reseligo administered every three months was required.
The diagnosis of disseminated cancer became the moment when treatment became even more intense and constant oncological vigilance became necessary.
Kazimierz is currently being treated with chemotherapy and injections to support the therapy, and regular removal of pleural fluid and oxygen therapy are essential for him to breathe and function with at least minimal stability.
Burden of illness embedded in everyday life
The disease is accompanied by a number of comorbidities, such as diabetes, hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which puts a significant strain on his body. Kazimierz alternates between being at home and in the internal ward of the hospital, and his condition requires constant monitoring, oxygen therapy and frequent medical interventions.
Breathing remains the biggest challenge. Every activity, even the most basic, requires an effort beyond his body's capabilities without the proper support of oxygen equipment. The disease robs him of his independence and self-reliance, and severe depression adds to the emotional burden that accompanies him every day.
Life suddenly came to a standstill
Kazimierz's daily life has changed irreversibly. He lost his dexterity, activity and the rhythm of life he had built up over the years. Today, every day begins and ends with a thought subordinated to treatment, hospital stays and the struggle for peaceful breathing. The disease robs him of his strength, while requiring expensive treatment, specialized care and equipment that he is unable to finance on his own.
The funds will be used for medical transportation, a home oxygen concentrator, medications and specialized food, which are essential for him to maintain minimal stability and survive the days ahead.
