The moment that changed everything
Julia was only a few years old when the first worrying symptoms began to appear. Problems with balance, difficulty swallowing, double vision, and recurring vomiting gradually robbed her of her childhood carefree spirit. Subsequent tests and consultations provided no answers. It wasn’t until an MRI scan that the truth—the one no parent ever wants to hear—was revealed. There was a massive tumor in Julia’s head. The diagnosis was pilocytic astrocytoma. From that moment on, the entire family’s life became centered on her treatment and the fight to save their beloved daughter’s health.
Seven years of relentless struggle
Julia underwent her first surgery in 2019, just a few days after her diagnosis. The procedure was extremely difficult due to the size of the tumor and the accompanying cyst. Further treatment was necessary in the following years. In 2020, Julia underwent more than a year of chemotherapy at the Children’s Health Center in Warsaw. Unfortunately, the disease kept returning. In 2023, the girl underwent two more surgeries in Tübingen, Germany, where she was treated by the renowned neurosurgeon Prof. Schuhmann. The next surgery took place in October 2024, when the cyst near the tumor began to grow rapidly. On January 31, 2025, due to a recurrence of the disease, Julia resumed cancer treatment. She is currently receiving oral TPCV chemotherapy and intravenous vincristine infusions at the Children’s Health Center in Warsaw.
A disease that gives no respite
In addition to battling cancer, Julia is also dealing with serious complications. During her treatment in Germany, she was diagnosed with central sleep apnea. Her brain does not send the proper signals to her lungs, which is why she must use a ventilator every night.
An additional challenge is her weakened immune system, which means that even common infections can pose a serious threat to her health. Despite all these hardships, Julia hasn’t lost her sensitivity or her zest for life. She still loves animals, traveling, and spending time with her beloved dog, Lukas.
Let's help Julia keep fighting
The funds raised will go toward transportation costs to hospitals, rehabilitation, medications, dietary supplements, and specialist medical consultations. Every contribution gives Julia a chance at continued treatment, greater security, and more days when she can simply be a child. Thank you for all the support you’ve shown our brave little fighter.
