The onset of the disease

The yellowing of his face, which appeared in 2018, was a clear sign that something very serious was happening in Jerzy's body. Urgent tests, including a gastroscopy, led to a diagnosis that left no room for doubt. Malignant pancreatic cancer. From that moment on , the disease required immediate action, leaving no room for hesitation or coming to terms with fear.

Surgery and extensive treatment

Later that year, Jerzy underwent extensive surgery in Germany. Part of his pancreas, stomach, duodenum, and lymph nodes were removed. It was a life-saving procedure, but it also marked the beginning of a long and exhausting road to recovery. After the operation, he underwent six months of chemotherapy. This was followed by a month and a half of rehabilitation. His body, weakened by the treatment, required enormous effort and determination in his daily functioning to regain at least some of his former fitness.

The illness returns

After years of relative calm, when thoughts of the disease returned less and less frequently and began to appear only as a difficult memory, another extremely painful piece of news emerged. Metastases were diagnosed. The medical indications are clear. It is necessary to reintroduce chemotherapy.

However, the biggest obstacle turned out to be financial resources. Jerzy is unable to finance further treatment. In order to function on a daily basis, he resorts to substitute medications and preventive measures, which are fully paid for and available at the pharmacy. These allow him to maintain basic fitness and survive each day.

Living alone

Jerzy lives alone and functions without constant support from others. His illness has significantly limited his daily capabilities, and additional neurological complications exacerbate his fatigue and weakness.

Loneliness during illness carries a particular burden. The absence of someone with whom to share fear, fatigue, or simply everyday life means that each day requires a special kind of strength and inner discipline.

Daily struggles

Today, basic needs have become the greatest challenge. Purchasing expensive, non-refundable medicines, paying bills for electricity, gas, or fuel, and providing food for oneself. These are matters that are obvious to many, but for Jerzy, they have become a source of constant anxiety.

Every financial decision means choosing between treatment and daily survival.

The fundraiser was created so that Jerzy would not have to fight alone. This support gives him the chance to continue treatment, purchase necessary medications, and feel a basic sense of security at a time when his illness is sapping his strength.

The cancer has returned, and he is alone with it. Your support can help him continue to fight, with a sense of security and stability that is invaluable in the face of a terminal illness.
