"I really want to go back to school. And for the pain to stop..."
The world fell apart in a single day

The diagnosis came in July, at a time that was supposed to be lighthearted and carefree, full of childlike joy. Instead, it brought a burden that immediately weighed down everything else, robbing the family of the illusion that this was just a temporary crisis that would quickly pass.

From that moment on, time ceased to flow normally. It was divided into tests, decisions, successive wards, and conversations in which the language of medicine began to set the limits of tomorrow.

Immediate treatment

Just five days after her diagnosis, treatment began according to the BCP-ALL cALL POL protocol. The University Children's Hospital in Krakow became Daryna's second home, not by choice, but out of necessity.

The girl has already undergone several stages of therapy, bone marrow tests, and procedures that push the limits of endurance for an 11-year-old child. Every day teaches her to function in a world where pain, fatigue, and anxiety have become constant companions.

When the treatment started to hurt

Daryna's body struggled to cope with the intensity of the treatment, and each subsequent cycle of chemotherapy proved to be an increasing burden on her body.
During the second cycle of chemotherapy, she suffered toxic liver damage. The girl's condition was so serious that she had to receive IV drips around the clock for over 30 days without interruption. Every day, her body received about four liters of medication to support her liver function and protect her from further serious consequences.
This stage of treatment was another moment that showed how fragile the balance between life-saving therapy and the struggle to survive each day can be.

A tired body and a heart full of fear

The treatment drains Daryna's energy, causing moments of extreme fatigue and days when even smiling requires enormous effort. Each cycle of therapy is not only a burden on the body, but also an emotional weight that the child must carry in silence.

Isolation is particularly painful. The absence of school, friends, ordinary conversations, and games means that Daryna's world shrinks to a hospital room, a bed, and waiting for the next test results that will determine the next steps.

The family is always watching over us

A child's illness changes everything. The family's daily life has been subordinated to treatment, commuting, decisions made under stress, and fear that does not disappear even when there is a moment of silence.

Parents try to protect their daughter from excessive anxiety, even though they themselves are functioning at the limits of their endurance, learning to live in a reality they never wanted to know.

Parents are asking for help

The fundraiser was created to support Daryna's treatment and help her family get through this time without additional fear for tomorrow. Non-refundable medications, rehabilitation, and psychological care for the entire family are essential, because in this situation there is no choice between what is important and what is necessary.

No one should have to fear for their life, and in the case of a child, the burden is particularly poignant. Let's give Daryna's loved ones peace and hope.
