Update
Between uncertainty and improvement
Beata is currently undergoing chemotherapy. The swelling goes down a little more each day, as if the body were slowly regaining its balance. These are small changes, but they mean a great deal. She has another important month ahead of her. An MRI and CT scan are scheduled for April to determine whether there has been significant improvement and to assess the progress of the treatment. These are uncertain times, but there is also cautious hope for better days ahead. March 26, 2026

The diagnosis came almost overnight.
In September 2025, a small skin lesion appeared on Beata's chest . It looked harmless and did not cause immediate concern, although it took a surprisingly long time to heal. There were no signs that a disease with such a rapid and destructive course was developing in her body.
Two months later , there was no longer any doubt. The diagnosis was made, and the world as I knew it disappeared forever. Triple-negative breast cancer is one of the most aggressive subtypes of cancer. Its treatment is difficult and requires immediate and ruthless decisions.
In a fraction of a second, time stopped flowing normally. Further tests revealed that the disease had already metastasized to the liver and brain. What was supposed to be a moment of anxiety turned into a sudden, brutal introduction to the reality of cancer treatment, with no time to come to terms with the fear.
Treatment started in a hurry
In January 2026 , radiotherapy of the head began. It was the first stage of a battle fought under enormous pressure, as the disease left no room for delay.
Beata is currently undergoing further radiation treatment, which covers her breast and armpit. The lymph nodes have also been affected, and the swelling has spread to her entire arm.
She will start chemotherapy on January 22. Her body is extremely weak. Since December, Beata has been hospitalized three times. Moving around has become difficult, and performing the simplest tasks now requires enormous effort and constant help from another person.
Loss of former life
Until recently, Beata ran her own business and taught English. Work was her passion, a source of meaning, agency, and independence. At the same time, she created computer graphics, building her creative and professional space.
That world suddenly came to a halt. From a life filled with teaching, plans, and creativity, Beata was transported to the reality of a hospital. Everything she knew was replaced by pain, fear, and uncertainty about tomorrow.
Daily life in sickness
Beata is currently at home. Her daughter helps her, without whom everyday functioning would be impossible. The disease has taken away her independence. Even the simplest activities now require time, strength, and attentive support.
An additional burden is schizophrenia, which Beata has been living with since 2013. Cancer treatment overlaps with her previous experiences, intensifying fatigue, tension, and feelings of fragility.
Help needed
The treatment of metastatic triple-negative breast cancer is a multidimensional battle—medical, physical, and existential. It is everyday life in which the simplest activities become a huge challenge, and life and responsibilities do not stop for a moment.
This is the drama of a woman who for years has lived her life responsibly, independently, and ambitiously, making difficult decisions and building her place in the world.
Asking for help did not come easily. Beata has always fought alone. Today, however, the situation leaves her no alternative.
This fundraiser is a request for a helping hand at a time when illness has taken away not only health, but also the tools to keep going. It is an appeal to take a close look at another person's story and to offer support that can provide real relief in a struggle that is beyond the strength of one person.
For Beata, any form of help means relief at a time when everything requires more effort than one person can bear.
