The battle that came suddenly

Not long ago, Antoni and his family's life was completely normal. Kindergarten, home, playtime, and plans for the future. However, at the beginning of December, the first worrying signs appeared: arm pain, excessive nervousness, night sweats, and bone pain. The symptoms quickly intensified, until finally a diagnosis was made that changed everything. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Hospital instead of everyday life

In December 2025 and January 2026 , intensive diagnostics began. Antoni underwent vascular port placement, spinal puncture, and bone marrow biopsy. Since then, the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital in Olsztyn has become his daily routine, where he is undergoing treatment according to the AIEOP-BFM 2017 Poland protocol.

It is a long and demanding therapy that puts a strain on both the child's body and mind. During treatment, infectious complications and neutropenia have already occurred, which further complicates the therapeutic process.

A few days ago, Antoni's mother received the results from the 33rd day of treatment. Unfortunately, they are not satisfactory. The residual disease still remains at 0.20%, which means that the therapy must be intensified. Antoni faces more burdensome treatment, with more frequent and stronger cycles of chemotherapy.

Family in the shadow of illness

Antoni's illness completely reorganized the family's life. His mother had to quit her job, which significantly worsened their financial situation. Daily stress, anxiety about their child's health, and uncertainty about future test results became a constant part of their everyday life.

The biggest challenges today are the next stages of treatment, future rehabilitation, and the need for ongoing psychological support, as well as securing basic needs in a situation that has suddenly become a fight for the child's health.

Small passions that give strength

Despite his illness, Antoni still finds joy in the things he loves most. Cars, building with LEGO bricks, and painting allow him to escape from the reality of the hospital for a moment. These are small moments of normality that help him get through the most difficult days.
