What was initially pain quickly became a cause for concern.
At first, there was abdominal pain and growing tension that would not go away. Day by day, it became more present, as if the body was demanding attention in a way that could no longer be drowned out by everyday responsibilities.
On October 8, 2025, Agata received a referral to the hospital. Ascites began to change the way she felt her own body, taking away her lightness of movement and calm breathing.
A few days later, she was admitted to the gynecological oncology ward at the clinical hospital in Łódź. Tests revealed a diagnosis of low-grade serous ovarian cancer. From that moment on , reality took on a different weight. What had previously been ordinary and obvious gave way to uncertainty and the need to face the disease.
The disease affected the body in a tangible way.
The accumulation of fluid in the peritoneal cavity caused increasing discomfort and pain. On November 4 , a puncture was performed to reduce tension and bring relief to the body. A few days later, a drain was inserted and a total of about ten liters of fluid was removed from the peritoneal cavity. Physical relief is difficult to separate from the awareness of how much the disease interferes with the body.
Treatment began without delay.
The diagnosis required immediate treatment. Chemotherapy involving carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab was planned, followed by maintenance therapy.
Agata remains in hospital in Łódź under constant medical supervision. Every day brings new experiences of fatigue, weakness, and the need to face uncertainty that cannot be hastened or predicted.
The disease has put my life on hold.
The illness interrupted my professional activity. The loss of the ability to work means not only a break in the daily rhythm of duties, but also a growing sense of instability and insecurity.
The hardest thing is simply persevering: organizing your life while undergoing treatment, coping with weakness, and thinking about a future that has suddenly become uncertain.
What remains important
Agata has always valued travel, a good book, and time spent with her family. Today, these simple values take on special significance and help maintain a sense of closeness and meaning in difficult times.
Why support matters
Cancer treatment and daily functioning with the disease involve costs that exceed the means of someone who is unemployed, hence our request for support for Agata at this most difficult time in her life.
