Update
The treatment is ongoing. The silent battle of the soul is also ongoing
Zlata has gone through difficult times. Today her condition is stable, and she has another stage ahead of her in the form of maintenance treatment. From a medical point of view, this is good news. But the disease affects more than just the body. Long weeks of uncertainty, anxiety and separation have left their mark. It is becoming increasingly clear that this battle requires not only medication, but also psychological support. It's still a road through invisible battlefields. But we are on it together - thanks to you. July 23, 2025Zlatka is bravely fighting the disease despite the side effects of treatment❗
Four months have passed since Zlatka was diagnosed and began intensive treatment. She has spent most of this time at the "Cape of Hope" in Wroclaw. So far, the treatment has been going well, but the strong medications that our Warrior has to take have caused coordination disorders and there are times when the girl loses her balance and falls over. There are also many indications that the therapy used has also caused the growth of permanent teeth to stop. Although Zlatka's recent health condition has allowed her to return home temporarily, unfortunately she will not be able to return to school with her peers in the current school year. The news that her friends have been waiting for her for a long time made her very sad and caused her many tears. After a short recuperation break at home, Zlatka has returned to the clinic in Wroclaw and is continuing her fight to return to full strength. She remains hopeful and courageous, and has plenty of strength to continue her fight, but the immense pain that accompanies her every day often takes away her good mood. We encourage you to continue supporting this very brave Warrior! October 2, 2024
Explore the history of
The age of innocence and already war
Not so long ago, Zlatka's world was simple and innocent. The girl's daily life was filled with movement, fun and the pursuit of more achievements in taekwondo training. In less than two years she earned a yellow belt. She dreamed of competing in tournaments and of podiums.
Instead, illness came - invisible and merciless. It forced her off the mat, shutting out the child's world and entering a reality that was frightening for a child.
First symptoms and illusions
In April 2024, Zlatka began complaining of leg pain - sharp, penetrating, radiating all the way to her back. Diagnoses were inconclusive. There was talk of strain, hip arthritis and even appendicitis were suspected. Anti-inflammatory drugs were administered to provide relief - but they did not.
Momentary improvements were illusory. The pain returned stronger - more relentless. In the middle of the night, Zlatka would wake up screaming, more and more exhausted, more and more confused. No remedies could ease it anymore.
Close to diagnosis
In Olawa, basic tests were performed, which were enough to send the girl to Wroclaw, to a hematology clinic - "Cape of Hope". There, after in-depth diagnostics, the diagnosis was made: acute lymphoblastic leukemia type B. Treatment began immediately - intensive, exhausting, dragging on for months.
The enemy is being fought
Zlatka does not look for substitute words to describe what she faced. She speaks plainly about the disease: it's an ENEMY!
She is extremely aware. She understands that she has a long battle ahead of her and that she must be exceptionally brave to endure the hardship of demanding treatment. Fortunately, there is a family next door. There are her parents, who watch by her side every day, her grandfather and her younger brother, whom she now misses very much.
Fight for life and dreams
Zlatka dreams of training again, going back to school and living again like her peers.
