That night, the only thing that mattered was stopping the bleeding

On October 2, 2025, a sudden, severe hemorrhage occurred. The situation was so serious that it was necessary to call an ambulance immediately.

Teresa was taken to the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency dilation and curettage.

At that point, it was all still just a medical procedure and a wait for the test results. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that the answer came, which gave meaning to the events that had come before.

On November 9, 2025, Teresa received her diagnosis: malignant tumor of the uterine body.

The following weeks brought the next stages of therapy

In December, the doctors implanted a vascular access port to prepare her body for further treatment. In the following months , she also developed complications related to severe anemia, which required blood transfusions and iron supplements.

On March 9,Teresa began radio-chemotherapy at the MSWiA Hospital in Warsaw. The treatment will last until mid-April and involves a series of radiation sessions administered concurrently with cisplatin.

Once this stage is complete , four more brachytherapy treatments are scheduled. This is an intensive treatment that demands tremendous physical strength and great mental resilience.

The body has to cope with more than one illness

The treatment process is further complicated by an autoimmune disease that Teresa has been battling for some time. It is bullous pemphigoid, a condition that affects the skin and the functioning of the immune system.

Because these two conditions occur together, each stage of treatment requires special care and constant medical supervision.

The hardest part doesn't always happen in the hospital

Teresa is raising her son on her own.Today, it is her son who helps her with many of the everyday household chores that, until recently, were a natural part of her daily life.

The illness has also put her career on hold. Teresa is currently unable to find a job, and she still has a long and demanding treatment ahead of her.

The biggest challenge, then, was not only the treatment itself, but also the struggle to maintain a sense of balance in a situation where every day brings new challenges. Teresa’s thoughts keep returning to her life before the illness. Before she fell ill, her daily life was filled with simple yet incredibly important things.

Reading books, taking long walks, learning foreign languages, visiting museums and theaters. She enjoyed traveling to places where time seemed to slow down, where she could pause for a moment and take a break from her daily responsibilities.

Today, my greatest wish is to get through treatment and regain the ability to live a normal life.

Sometimes the biggest dreams aren’t about grand things. They’re about simple things that, in their ordinariness, turn out to be the most beautiful—like the days when life begins to flow once again in a calm, familiar rhythm.
