For them, the life of their son is the most important thing in the world, absolutely priceless.
Not surprisingly, their world literally collapsed when, on May 24, 2024, shortly before the boy's fifth birthday, they heard a shocking diagnosis - Peter suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Due to a genetic predisposition, our Warrior has been classified as high-risk, which entails a much more taxing, toxic treatment. It's hard to imagine a more difficult moment for a parent than the one in which they learn that their child has cancer.
However, there is some spark of hope in this story. It turns out that the chance for a healthy life for Peter may be immunotherapy, in the form of three cycles of taking the drug Blincyto. This is a very heavy infusion, lasting continuously for 28 days, with a one-time cost of as much as PLN 120,000. Literally every second and every penny collected counts at the moment, as acute leukemia is increasingly aggressively attacking the defenseless little boy.
Although Peter is still a little Warrior, his courage is enormous!
The hardships he has to endure every day, however, are capable of breaking even the strongest. The enormity of fear and suffering coursing through our Hero's head accompanies him every day, as does the chemistry that saves his life.
By using therapy with the unreimbursed drug Blincyto, it will be possible to target T lymphocytes to fight cancer cells. In this way, potential recurrence in the future can be prevented. Unfortunately, the drug is not reimbursed, which means gigantic purchase costs. The cost of the therapy, which is the absolute minimum to save Peter's life, has been calculated at more than 400 thousand zlotys.
Such a sum of money is almost impossible for an average family to raise. However, together we can fund Peter's very, very expensive therapy.
