Just a few months ago, Paweł was trying to get his daily life back on track and look for a job. Today, his life looks completely different. Acute leukemia and lymphoma mean that he spends most of his time shuttling between hospital wards and making brief trips home. Every day is a struggle against debilitating treatment, extreme physical weakness, and the wait for a bone marrow donor who can save his life.
It all started with swelling in my neck
The first symptoms appeared in late October 2025. Initially, there was swelling on the left side of the cheek, which eventually spread to the neck. Visibly enlarged lymph nodes appeared, including the supraclavicular node. In addition, the left tonsil became inflamed.
Further testing revealed a very serious diagnosis: acute lymphoblastic leukemia and early T-cell precursor lymphoblastic lymphoma. The immediate fight for her health and life began.
Intensive treatment and waiting for a transplant
On January 26, 2026, Paweł underwent surgery in the otolaryngology department, during which a biopsy was performed and a lymph node was removed for further testing. In April, it was necessary to implant a vascular access port, which is essential for intensive hematological treatment. Paweł has now completed two cycles of very aggressive chemotherapy following the Hyper-CVAD/MA protocol. The treatment has severely weakened his body. He has developed severe neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, and extreme weakness.

Any infection could pose a serious threat to him, which is why isolation and extreme caution are essential. After a PET scan, the doctors determined that Paweł was a candidate for an allogeneic bone marrow transplant. The search for a compatible donor in the DKMS database is currently underway. This is his best hope for survival.
The illness robbed me of my normal life
These days, Paweł divides his time between the hospital and home. His stays in the ward often last about a month, followed by brief returns home that allow him to take a breather from the hospital routine, if only for a moment.
His illness has completely ruled out the possibility of working. Due to intensive treatment, physical weakness, and frequent hospitalizations, Paweł requires constant support from his loved ones and help with managing his daily life. Mental health issues also place a heavy burden on him. The constant stress associated with treatment, the wait for a bone marrow donor, and uncertainty about the future accompany him every day.
Hope is the greatest source of strength
Before his illness, Paweł enjoyed fishing, which allowed him to relax and find peace. Today, he has to devote most of his energy to fighting for his health and getting through the next stages of treatment.
The funds raised will help cover the costs of treatment, non-reimbursable medications, travel to hematology centers, daily expenses, and basic living costs at a time when his illness has completely prevented him from working. Please support Paweł. Every contribution gives him a chance at a more peaceful treatment process, the continued fight for a bone marrow transplant, and the hope that he can overcome the illness that so suddenly robbed him of his normal life.
