Update

We have good news!
The results of the repeat bone marrow biopsy indicate the absence of cancer cells. At this stage of treatment, this is an extremely important and encouraging sign. Miłosz has already returned to the ward, where is being prepared for the next rounds of chemotherapy. At this point, it is known that he has 2 or 4 treatment cycles ahead of him, each of which involves two infusions.
There is also a potential bone marrow donor
A young man from Germany who may be a suitable donor has been found in the donor registry. At this stage, discussions are ongoing and further arrangements are being made regarding the next steps. The situation remains fluid, so it is still difficult to determine exactly how treatment will proceed. Much will depend on the test results following the next round of chemotherapy.

Despite his fatigue and the side effects of treatment, Miłosz is fighting bravely. Whenever he has the strength, he tries to go out for a while and see his loved ones. The family looks forward to the days ahead with hope, believing that this course of treatment is heading in the right direction. April 3, 2026

Worrisome symptoms, quick diagnosis

It was just another day at work, the usual routine, but something had changed. While unloading the goods , Miłosz suddenly felt a lack of energy. It wasn’t just ordinary fatigue. He felt a sense of unease that he didn’t dismiss. He decided to get a blood test. He didn’t expect the results to come back so quickly.

The call from the lab was blunt and to the point. The results were abnormal. Further testing was urgently needed. The next day, everything happened in a flash. Transport to the hospital in Wrocław, more tests, and the tension of waiting for the results, which grew with every passing hour. The diagnosis was clear: acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Now a lot depends on one person

Miłosz underwent a lumbar puncture and a CT scan. The results showed no abnormalities in the central nervous system, which was crucial information at the start of treatment. This was only the beginning of the journey. During the course of treatment, it was decided that a bone marrow transplant would be necessary. The search for a genetically compatible donor is ongoing.

Loneliness is the worst

The hospital ward where Miłosz is staying is closed off. This means very limited contact with his loved ones. He sees his mother and partner mainly through a glass partition, and face-to-face visits are rare and brief. Every such meeting, every glance, served as a reminder that Miłosz is fighting not only against his illness but also against the loneliness that has become his constant companion.

Dreams Overshadowed by Illness

The diagnosis took more than just Miłosz’s health. Before the diagnosis, work was an important part of Miłosz’s life. Driving a truck gave him a sense of independence and freedom that is hard to find elsewhere. Today, that daily routine has come to a halt.

At home, his two closest loved ones—his mother and his partner—are waiting for him. Miłosz’s mother is battling her own illness, and he doesn’t want to add to her worries. His plans to marry and start a family with his beloved must also wait. The plans, dreams, and everyday life that once seemed so obvious have suddenly become a distant world. Now, only one thing matters: fighting for each new day.

There is hope

Treating leukemia is a long and demanding process. Miłosz is facing a bone marrow transplant and a recovery period that will require time and the right conditions.

Every bit of support helps Miłosz get through this phase more calmly and focus on his treatment, which is what he needs most right now.
