A Disturbing Change
Toward the end of March last year, I felt a concerning lump in my stomach area. Something told me I couldn’t ignore it. The next morning, I was already at the doctor’s office. I still remember the serious look on his face. He didn’t wait a moment; he immediately scheduled me for an ultrasound, which took place the very next day.
Unfortunately, the test revealed a lesion measuring 6.5 cm. A few days later, I received the diagnosis: bile duct cancer with metastases to the liver and suspected metastases to the lungs.
Chemotherapy and Side Effects
Because of the size of the tumor, the doctors couldn't perform surgery. Chemotherapy was my only option. At the end of August, I began treatment, hoping to stop the disease from progressing.
Each subsequent cycle was a struggle—not only against the cancer, but also against my own body. I began to experience gastrointestinal problems, hard-to-describe discomfort in my legs, and insomnia.
Unfortunately, after a few months, I received another piece of painful news. The tumor had grown by 35%. I had to stop the treatment.
Treatment Abroad
Today, I’m looking for another chance on my own. I’ve found an oncology clinic abroad that gives me hope for further treatment. The doctors plan to implement a new, comprehensive treatment protocol.
It is to include a new form of metabolically-assisted chemotherapy, hyperthermia, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, specialized infusions, oral medication, and a personalized diet tailored to my condition.
Life Before the Illness
Before I got sick, I loved to travel, discover new places, and capture them with my camera. I spent my evenings with a book, a good movie, or some music, and physical activity was a natural part of my daily life. I enjoyed every moment.
Today, my reality looks completely different. I live on the third floor, and leaving the house has become a huge challenge. What used to be ordinary and required no thought now often takes a lot of effort on my part.
Right now, every day is a struggle to stay healthy. Treatment abroad involves costs that I cannot afford on my own, which is why I am asking for your support. Every bit of help and every kind word means the world to me.
