First signs
In August 2025, it began with a feeling of weakness that wouldn’t go away despite rest. Night sweats, abdominal pain, and gradual weight loss set in . My body was sending signals that could no longer be ignored. The diagnosis provided the answer: lymphoma. That word changes the way you view time. Plans give way to treatment, and the future begins to be measured in successive stages of therapy.
Treatment and its burden
Jolanta underwent six cycles of chemotherapy. Each one took a toll on her body, causing nausea, vomiting, and severe weakness that makes it difficult for her to go about her daily life.
Weakened by treatment, the body must also contend with comorbid conditions: high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and high cholesterol. The next step in the fight for health will be a bone marrow transplant. This is a time that demands physical and mental strength, as well as special care for the body.
Everyday Life in the Shadow of Treatment
Jolanta is currently at home, where her family is helping her. Due to her poor health, even simple tasks require effort, and contact with family and friends must be limited because of her weakened immune system. Her world has shrunk to a space where safety and recovery are the top priorities.
Time slowed down by illness
Jolanta has always cherished the quiet rituals of everyday life. She enjoys reading books, solving Sudoku puzzles, and going for walks. Today, these small pleasures serve as reminders of her life before the illness and as a source of hope for a return to her normal daily routine. Each stage of treatment requires care for a body weakened by the therapy, as well as the creation of conditions conducive to recovery. Jolanta is now at a point where treatment requires patience, strength, and time.
