The busy several-year-old enjoys dancing and singing, and does not part for a moment with his beloved dog, Tosia.
Already in the nursery, he showed great interest in the musical direction, and most enjoyed attending music classes, through which he learned about many different instruments.
His active and busy childhood was brutally curtailed shortly before Christmas. The hitherto healthy and energetic boy began coughing, mostly at night, and a concerned Mom took him to the doctor to alleviate the effects of (what seemed at the time) a cold. The pediatrician found nothing particularly worrisome - he noticed a reddened throat and an infection that he assessed as harmless. The parents took their son on a Christmas trip to visit family, during which Kubuś developed a fever. The mother went to the doctor again, which took place on the first day of Christmas. She received assurances that it was still the same infection, which just continued to persist. A CRP test was recommended to see if the infection was bacterial.
Later that day, in the evening, the morphology results came in. They were not the best, but it was far from an extreme conclusion. Before New Year's Eve, Kubuś and his parents had already returned home, where he took antipyretics and recovered. Temporarily this solution worked, but shortly after New Year's Day the boy had to be picked up by Mom from the nursery, as he looked very unwell.
During a subsequent visit to the doctor, a repeat morphology was ordered.
The blood drawn turned out to be too thick and the test had to be repeated. In the afternoon, Kuba's Mom received a phone call she hoped never to receive in her life....
It was a phone call to inform her that an urgent referral to the hospital had been issued with a note that her son had suspected leukemia. Thorough tests made the final diagnosis - B-type acute lymphoblastic leukemia. From that moment on, everything went by in a flash....
Since January 8, 2024, Ms. Paulina has been staying with Kuba in the Wroclaw "Cape of Hope" cancer hospital. Exactly 10 days later he started chemotherapy and so far he is tolerating it well. He still remains smiling, his appetite is maintained, which is sustained by the steroids he is taking. Of course, there are also moments of irritability and weakness, but his parents are still extremely proud of the perseverance shown by their dear son.
Our Warrior's body is not taking the demanding treatment too badly. In early February, he received the last dose of the first cycle of chemotherapy. Kubuś now has a breather to prepare for further treatment.
This is just the beginning of a very long and very demanding road that our Hero has to go through to overcome the disease. Let's give him plenty of support, so that Kubuś and his parents will have enough strength to continue the fight. We strongly encourage you to support this brave boy!
