Filipek versus skin, intestinal and liver grafts. A key stage of treatment for our Warrior❗. Fearless Filipek is currently struggling with the serious consequences of treatment and a recent bone marrow transplant. Despite constant medication, the boy's condition is still precarious. He continues to face skin, intestinal and liver grafts. Medication doses are constantly being modified by the doctors treating our Warrior to bring the best possible results. The good news is that Philip's morphology results are at normal levels, with only granulocytes breaking out above normal. The daily routine of our charge is to constantly monitor his health. It is essential for this purpose to regularly come to "Cape of Hope" for check-ups. The struggle is still ongoing, but we all hope that soon our Hero will overcome his ailments! We encourage you to support the uneven fight that Filipek is waging against the disease. Each donation allows the boy's parents to cover the ever-increasing costs of commuting, private visits to doctors and other necessary expenses. August 5, 2024
Complications after bone marrow transplant ruin Filipek's health❗. Filipek underwent a bone marrow transplant in late January 2024. Currently, the boy is struggling with complications - a liver graft and a skin graft. Philip and his mother have spent the past few months confined to a hospital room under a sanitary regime. They can't wait to return home, where Filip's longing brother and dad are waiting for them. The boy's mom's biggest dream is to live without constant hospital visits. Philip will need equipment that will help him recover from his illness. Among them - an air purifier and an inhaler. In addition, after leaving the hospital Filipek will need a special diet and medication. Therefore, their support is needed. The life of the little boy and his family will still revolve around the hospital, constant medical checks and examinations. The whole family is looking forward to a return to normalcy. Filipek has been struggling with immune deficiency practically since birth, recurring bronchitis, went through a very severe viral hepatitis and finally ended up with his mother at "Cape of Hope", where he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia.
Getting a diagnosis wasn't easy either. Filipek went to the clinic for an examination that was supposed to last three days, but ended up with a month-long stay, a short break, a re-test of the bone marrow, the placement of a port and finally a diagnosis and the implementation of treatment from August 16.
The port has been removed, the little boy is now waiting for the Broviac insertion and patiently enduring platelet administration, granulocyte injections and oral chemotherapy. He will 99% be prepared for a transplant, as Philip's body is not responding to the treatment used.
How difficult it is to be confined to the hospital for such a tiny, energetic child knows, above all, his mom and his dad and little brother, who are waiting at home. The anxiety associated with uncertainty about the future is a huge burden for Philip's mom.
Daily life in the "Cape of Hope" involves frequent isolation and sanitary regime. After all, the world of a child is a world of fun and joy... Let's help Filipek return to a normal life!
