When you hear a terrible diagnosis, your life comes to a standstill. Emil is a less than 18-year-old boy who has once again taken up the fight against cancer, this time of a different kind.
When he was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. After long and hard treatment, Emil managed to "fight off the enemy." For 13 years his parents enjoyed the boy's health. However, then the cancer made its presence known again. This time it is cancer of the base of the tongue. Treatment is very arduous, the stay in the hospital lasted about 7 weeks. Emil has already undergone 3 surgeries, long cycles of chemotherapy and struggled with the side effects of treatment, radiation.
Recent radiation therapy has caused extensive burns that are painful and make it very difficult to function normally, even to a limited degree when visiting the clinic. At the moment it is difficult to say how long the treatment will last. Emil is a very patient boy, but like any teenager, he would rather spend his time riding his bike, hanging out with friends, or playing console games with his brother. This is again a very difficult time for the family, and every support counts.
