Symptoms worsened day by day, after a few days our charge was taken to the ED, he was examined for pneumonia, during the examination the doctor found pleural fluid. Further diagnosis was underway, lymph nodes were found to be enlarged, swelling in the chest was noted, also the result of blood tests was very worrying, the number of leukocytes was significantly elevated.

The boy was taken to the hematology department in Gdansk for detailed examinations, where a mass in the mediastinum was confirmed, and after a few days a definite diagnosis was given - T-lymphoblastic leukemia.

During the first days of clinical treatment, pleural drainage was performed, and the first doses of chemotherapy were administered. His beginnings were very hard. Our Hero stayed 3 months in the hospital without being able to go home. Therapy was planned for a year of chemotherapy in the hospital, followed by a year of maintenance chemotherapy at home.

Treatment began to become severely complicated, pneumonia developed, so serious that Daniel was taken to the intensive care unit and there he was hooked up to a ventilator.

However, his health still did not improve. The fight for life began, our protégé had to be connected to a specialized apparatus, and remained connected to it for 6 days. After this time, the situation began to stabilize.

When the boy's health improved he returned to the hematology department and was able to continue his fight against leukemia, Unfortunately, the treatment process has side effects, Daniel is weakened, he has lost weight, his appetite is not good....

We hope that the further road to recovery will be easier and there will be no complications, the funds raised during the collection will be used to cover the cost of ongoing treatment, travel to the hospital, proper diet and supplementation and subsequent rehabilitation.
