Disturbing pain
In mid-November, Cyprian began complaining of pain in his right groin and buttock. At first, I thought it might be overexertion, perhaps a result of physical activity, or maybe something that would just go away on its own. However, the pain didn't go away.
After the doctor's appointment, everything happened very quickly. More visits, tests, waiting for results. Soon, imaging tests revealed the presence of a tumor. A biopsy was performed in January.
Unfortunately, the diagnosis came quickly and was devastating. Ewing's sarcoma with bone metastases.
Clinical Trials and Treatment
Cyprian qualified for the Euro Ewing clinical trial. As of today, he has already completed 9 cycles of chemotherapy. We’ve been through many difficult times, sleepless nights, and moments when our hearts were breaking.
Each round of treatment drained his strength, but at the same time brought us closer to the next stage of the fight. Further treatment is already planned, and we know we still have a long road ahead of us.
Cyprian also suffers from bronchial asthma. His body, which is weakened by the treatment, has to cope with additional challenges every day.
Support from siblings
Cyprian is not alone in this difficult struggle. Every day, his beloved siblings—his 19-year-old brother Filip and his 4-year-old sister Lena—are a huge source of support for him. They share a special bond.
The hardest times are when we have to go to the hospital for treatment. That’s when our family gets separated. Cyprian misses his siblings, and they miss him. Lena often asks when her brother will come home and when they’ll be able to play together again. Filip, even though he’s an adult now, is deeply affected by his brother’s illness and tries to support him every step of the way.
Small Pleasures
Despite all the challenges he faces, Cyprian is still just an ordinary boy with big dreams and passions. He loves animals; their presence always brings a smile to his face and helps him forget about his illness, if only for a moment.
He also loves video games, which serve as a window to a world free from hospital rooms and endless tests. It is while playing that he can stop being a patient for a moment and feel like just a teenager again.
Please support me
Every day brings new challenges, hospital visits, tests, treatment, and constant fear for my child's future.
Unfortunately, the disease also comes with enormous costs. The expenses associated with treatment make it increasingly difficult for us to bear this burden on our own.
I would greatly appreciate your support in this difficult struggle.
