As recently as early May, Brajan was just an ordinary teenager who thought about school, soccer, and hanging out with friends. Everything changed suddenly when alarming symptoms appeared, which at first did not foreshadow such a dramatic diagnosis. Today, Brajan is battling acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia and tries every day to find his way in a reality filled with treatment, isolation, and enormous changes.
The illness came on suddenly
The first symptoms appeared on May 3, 2026. A rash on his body and severe abdominal pain greatly alarmed his family. Further tests revealed acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.
It came as a huge shock to Brajan and his loved ones. Just moments earlier, everything had seemed normal, and suddenly the entire family’s life revolved around the fight for his health. Chemotherapy began just two days later.
The hospital became part of everyday life.
Brajan is currently at the Provincial Specialized Children’s Hospital in Olsztyn, where he is undergoing intensive treatment. The illness has robbed him of his ability to function normally. He had to put his schooling and vocational training on hold. Overnight, his daily hobbies—soccer, video games, and hanging out with friends—also disappeared. The hardest part has been the isolation from his loved ones and the realization that the treatment will be long and very demanding.
The family is trying to adjust to their new reality
Brajan has three older brothers. For the whole family, the illness was something completely new and very difficult to understand. They felt fear, helplessness, and immense stress related to the cancer treatment. Despite their fear, the brothers try to support Brajan as best they can and make him feel that he is not alone in this fight.
Every day, the family also faces organizational and financial challenges related to frequent trips to the hospital and their efforts to provide Brajan with at least a little bit of normalcy during his long stay in the ward.
He would like to get his life back
Before his illness, Brajan loved soccer, video games, and spending time with his friends. Today, his biggest dream is to regain his health and be able to return to the everyday life of a teenager.
The funds raised will be used to cover the family’s travel expenses to the hospital and to purchase items that will help make Brajan’s long weeks of treatment and stay in the ward more bearable. We ask for your support for Brajan. Every bit of help gives him a better chance at a more peaceful treatment experience, a sense of support, and the hope that, once his therapy is complete, he will be able to return to the life that his illness suddenly put on hold.
