The disease’s humble beginnings
Toward the end of last year, Bogusław began to experience pain in his lower back. At first, he attributed it to fatigue and overexertion, convinced that it was a condition that would go away on its own over time. However, that did not happen. The pain returned and became increasingly bothersome. Over time, other concerning symptoms related to the urinary system also appeared.
In early January, he decided to see a urologist. He expected a routine consultation and to be sent home quickly. However, the ultrasound revealed a finding that required further testing.
Soon after, Bogusław received the results of the histopathological examination. The diagnosis was devastating: high-grade invasive urothelial carcinoma.
Initial decisions
During a visit to the Tadeusz Marciniak Hospital in Wrocław, a CT scan was performed. The scan was intended to allay fears of possible metastases.
In February , a medical consultation was held during which the doctors decided to administer neoadjuvant chemotherapy to weaken the disease before the planned surgery to remove the bladder.
It was a moment when fear mingled with the hope that treatment would halt the progression of the disease.

Weaken the enemy
In early March, Bogusław began chemotherapy at the Lower Silesian Oncology Center in Wrocław. The treatment is administered approximately every two weeks to weaken the tumor and prepare his body for the next stage of therapy.
Another CT scan is scheduled for the end of April. It will determine whether the planned surgery can go ahead. This is a moment the family is eagerly awaiting.
Life has already put him to the test once
This isn’t the first time life has put Bogusław to the test. In 2022, he faced Guillain-Barré syndrome, a condition that temporarily left him unable to move on his own.
The Hardships of Everyday Life
Today, Bogusław feels extremely weak. Every day demands a tremendous effort from him, and his body is still struggling with the effects of his illness and treatment.
When he is not in the hospital, his two daughters are his greatest source of support. Their presence, care, and daily companionship remind him that he does not have to face his illness alone.
A tough fight
Bogusław’s heart has always raced at the sight of classic cars. For him, cars aren’t just a hobby—they’re also a way to feel a sense of freedom in his daily life. At the same time, his heart goes out to animals. When he’s around them, he forgets all his worries.
Bogusław is now facing a tough battle.
