Update
There are results that clarify the situation, but they don’t bring peace of mind
A follow-up MRI performed on February 17 showed no signs of recurrence at the surgical site. That was good news. At the same time The examination revealed a lesion in the right side of the bridge, which was already evident in an earlier study conducted in September. Initially it was considered a benign change, requiring only observation. Its nature has now changed. The tumor has grown from 15x6 mm to 16x13 mm and, according to the current assessment, is malignant.![]()
Decisions are made where options are limited
The case was referred to a consultation, during which the doctors confirmed that Due to the location of the lesion, it is not possible to perform either surgery or a biopsy. The tumor is located in an area where surgical intervention could cause permanent damage. That leaves treatments that do not require direct intervention
It was decided to use the CyberKnife system for radiation therapy. The treatments are scheduled to take place from March 23 to 27 in Poznań. The current course of chemotherapy will continue as planned. The third course of treatment began on March 10.Despite everything, life goes on
Despite this information Łukasz's overall condition remains stable. He is feeling well and returned to work on February 23. The coming weeks will be crucial for the further course of the treatment. The treatment has been planned, but its effectiveness will only be able to be assessed in future studies. March 19, 2026

The body began to scream
Łukasz lived according to a well-established routine that gave him a sense of stability and purpose. Work, tennis, bike rides, and time spent with his family made up his everyday life, which left room for plans and peace of mind.
At the beginning of September 2025, the first signs appeared that could no longer be ignored. Numbness in the limbs, paralysis on the left side of the body, balance disorders. The symptoms returned more and more often, and the accompanying anxiety grew with each passing day, becoming a shadow that could not be removed or silenced.
The diagnosis shattered my sense of security.
The moment has come when reassuring thoughts that this is only a temporary problem are no longer enough. The diagnosis that has begun has brought an answer that no one is ready for.
Multiform glioblastoma. IDH wildtype glioblastoma, grade IV according to the WHO classification. The weight of this diagnosis overshadowed everything that had been obvious until then, leaving only a sense of collapse and no clues as to how to rebuild reality from scratch. The future, which until recently had been a certainty, became unknown. Each subsequent day began to be counted differently.
The operation and the first stage of the battle
On September 25, 2025, Łukasz underwent a complicated surgery at the University Clinical Hospital in Poznań. A craniotomy was performed in the right frontal region and the tumor was removed under neuromonitoring, using 5ALA acid and UV light.
The procedure was successful, but it left him with slight paralysis on the left side of his body. This was the first price he had to pay for saving his life.
Five weeks after the surgery , intensive six-week chemoradiotherapy began. Every day meant commuting between my home in Gorzów Wielkopolski and the Oncology Center in Poznań.
Radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy devastated the body. Extreme fatigue, weakness, nausea, and vomiting appeared. The hyperthermia therapy used also caused severe headaches. Each day of treatment was another test of endurance.
On January 13, 2026, Łukasz begins monotherapy with Temodal in 28-day cycles, scheduled to last six months. At the same time, the family is looking for opportunities for further treatment beyond the standards available in Poland, including immunotherapy in Germany and Optune TTF therapy.
A life subordinated to illness
The sudden diagnosis forced Łukasz to stop working. He is on sick leave, and his neurological symptoms and the effects of treatment prevent him from returning to his previous duties.
The disease affected the whole family. Everyday life was subordinated to treatment, doctor's appointments, and constant uncertainty about tomorrow. The greatest fear remains the fear of a rapid recurrence of the disease and the loss of independence.
The treatment is ongoing and already requires enormous financial resources. What will happen next remains unknown. The fundraising campaign may need to be expanded as more information becomes available about treatment options, including those outside the country.
However, we cannot wait. This fundraiser is being organized today to give Łukasz a chance for further treatment and to preserve what is most important: the opportunity to be a husband and father present in the lives of his loved ones.
