Update
We’re excited to share some great news
Krzysiu is currently in the maintenance phase of his remission. She takes chemotherapy pills every day, and her blood test results are checked once a week.
Sometimes the test results fall below normal levels, in which case it is necessary to go to the Children’s Health Center in Katowice for a blood transfusion.Despite the challenges of treatment, things are moving in the right direction. Krzyś remains under the close supervision of his doctors. He feels better some days and worse others, as is often the case with chemotherapy. There are days when he feels better, and others that require more strength and patience.
His loved ones are eagerly awaiting April 14. A follow-up MRI is scheduled for that day to show how his body is responding to treatment.
Thank you for all your support so far, for your kind words, and for keeping Krzys in your thoughts. Your presence and kindness truly give us strength. Keep your fingers crossed for the upcoming results! April 8, 2026

First signs
The first worrying symptoms appeared in February 2025, when Krzyś, who had always been energetic and active, began to tire more quickly, move more slowly, and cough more frequently. The symptoms resembled an infection, so initially they did not cause much concern, although over time it became clear that something was wrong.
In mid-March, she experienced increasing shortness of breath and fever, and by the end of the month, she was noticeably weak and had swelling in her chest. Tests performed at the hospital revealed a condition that required immediate treatment and further diagnosis.
Diagnosis
Computed tomography and subsequent tests revealed the presence of an extensive mass in the mediastinum, a significant amount of fluid in the pleural cavities, changes in the lymph nodes, and involvement of other organs. The diagnosis was clear and serious: diffuse non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of lymphoblastic nature, with involvement of the bone marrow and central nervous system.
A mediastinal tumor, jugular vein thrombosis, and severe respiratory disorders meant that from the very first days, Krzyś required intensive, specialized care.
Treatment at the limit of endurance
Since April 2025, Krzyś has been treated according to the LBL-2018 program. He has undergone successive stages of chemotherapy, including intensive treatment with high doses of methotrexate and numerous lumbar punctures. The first follow-up tests gave cause for cautious hope, as the mediastinal tumor had regressed significantly, and subsequent CT scans confirmed remission of the disease.
However, the therapy proved to be extremely burdensome. Pancytopenia requiring blood transfusions, acute pancreatitis, drug-induced hepatopathy, painful inflammation of the mouth and nail folds occurred. Treatment had to be interrupted and modified many times, and the child's body was repeatedly pushed to its limits.
Everyday life dominated by illness
Blood tests performed several times a week, sudden trips to Katowice, and constant readiness for unforeseen situations have become part of everyday life for the whole family. Mom is always with Krzysiu when his condition requires it, which meant she had to give up her job. Dad is struggling with serious health problems himself and is in the hospital, so the grandparents and the oldest brother have also taken on a huge role in caring for him.
The family lives in constant tension, trying to combine the child's treatment with everyday responsibilities and increasingly limited financial resources.
A family in a state of constant trial
Mom had to suspend her professional activity to be with her son, and the family's income decreased significantly. Krzys's illness came at a time when dad also needed treatment, and everyday life is filled with fear for the child's health and uncertainty about tomorrow.
Home is no longer a place of respite, because even there, the disease does not allow you to forget its presence. Every day becomes a struggle to maintain a balance between hope and constant uncertainty.
Why support is needed
Krzys has a long period of maintenance treatment ahead of him , which will last until March 2027. The fundraiser is intended to help cover the costs of medication, additional tests, rehabilitation, and adapting Krzys's apartment and room to sterile conditions so that he can safely return home.
