Update
We already know the date of the transplant.
We are pleased to inform you that Juleczka is currently staying in Wrocław, preparing for the most important stage of her treatment—a bone marrow transplant, which is scheduled for December 23. We believe that everything will go according to plan and without complications. Keep your fingers crossed! December 10, 2025Yet the transplant...
On October 20, Julcia completed her third cycle of chemotherapy. Parents and doctors alike had pinned great hopes on the treatment so far, believing that it would bring marked improvement. Unfortunately, despite the tremendous efforts of the medical team and Julcia's extraordinary bravery, The results of the study were far from expectations. A biopsy taken after the first cycle of treatment showed a decrease in the number of blasts from 8% to 3%.
Although the result marked a partial response to treatment - the marrow is still not clean.
The family is anxiously awaiting the results of another biopsy. The current ones clearly indicate that treatment has not had the expected effect and a bone marrow transplant, at this point, is inevitable.Julcia has one more round of chemotherapy ahead of her, which is intended to prepare her body for the transplant. This is an exceptionally difficult time—full of anxiety, fear, and waiting—but also of faith that this step will prove decisive. Let's keep our fingers crossed for our brave Julka! October 21, 2025
Second cycle of chemo behind us
On September 12, Julia completed her second cycle of chemotherapy. It was another stage of the difficult road that brought relief, as the body endured the treatment more gently this time. Fortunately, Julia is feeling well, although she still struggles with a lack of appetite.Every day is different, and the following days show how the body responds to the therapy. We are still awaiting the results of the first biopsy, which will indicate the direction of further treatment. It's a time of patient waiting, but also a time of hope that further information will bring good news. September 15, 2025

When blood stops protecting
At the end of April 2025, one of Julia's routine morphologies yielded alarming results. Further testing left no illusions of myelodysplasia of the bone marrow with the RUNX1 MECOM gene. This is a disease in which the bone marrow - instead of producing healthy blood cells - produces them defectively or not at all. The body no longer has a defense against infections, and everyday little things like a runny nose or a scratch can become life-threatening.
The treatment is brutal. Julia is receiving chemotherapy according to the myeloid leukemia protocol.
The first cycle is behind her, three more ahead of her, and looming over everything is the specter of a bone marrow transplant - her only hope if chemo proves too weak in the battle against the disease.
Home without mom, hospital without end
Their lives are stretched between two worlds - hospital rooms and home, which are separated by too much to be together every day. Mom lives in the hospital, cradling IVs, cables and Julcia's tiny body in her arms. Dad stays at home with Julcia's siblings. The eldest daughter is already counting down the days until her first communion, but she feels her mom's absence most in everyday moments - at dinner, at bedtime, on the way to school.
Every phone call, every brief visit is too brief, and the returns to empty beds are too painful. Julka's siblings try to understand that their mother is fighting for their sister's life, but longing is an adversary as merciless as illness.
To get back to dancing and singing
Julia is a cheerful, sociable child. She loves to dance and sing, although these days her voice is more likely to resonate in a hospital setting than at home.
