Seemingly a trifle, but it activated anxiety
Ewelina's story began like many similar stories of people diagnosed with cancer - with something seemingly ordinary.
In the fall of 2024, this inconspicuousness in the form of a lump in her breast, became for Ewelina the beginning of her own story.
Aware of the importance of prevention, she decided to get tested, wanting to dispel the doubts she had sown. The result, however, left no room for hope. The diagnosis was malignant breast cancer at an advanced stage, BI-RADS 6.
Such information takes the ground away while activating a primal instinct, i.e. the will to survive. It is this that made Evelina take up the fight and reach for forces she did not know she had before.
The body and everyday life have changed
From the diagnosis to the start of treatment took only a moment. Everything happened in a flash, as if time suddenly sped up. In December, a vascular port was placed so she could safely receive infusions. Therapy began in the so-called red chemotherapy protocol - four cycles, followed by twelve more, called white chemotherapy. Each like a separate battle in the fight for survival. On August 6, 2025, Ewelina underwent an amputation of her left breast, which, although it took away a piece of her womanhood, offered a chance to save her life. After chemotherapy and surgery, Ewelina is waiting for a new stage to begin - radiation therapy to consolidate the effects of the treatment so far.
Life after illness doesn't start right away
In addition to health, cancer also takes away a sense of security and stability. In May 2025, Ewelina lost her job. Since then, she has been living on rehabilitation benefits, facing financial uncertainty and fatigue after months of debilitating treatment.
She is a single mom raising three children aged 17, 15 and 10. After her divorce, she rents a small apartment to have a roof over her head for them. Every day is a struggle not only for her health, but also to give her children a sense of normalcy.
One of her daughters started school in Wroclaw this year, which entails additional costs like commuting, boarding fees and food.
All of this makes each month a challenge beyond our strength. Your help will allow Ewelina to breathe more peacefully
The funds raised will be used for transportation to medical facilities, rehabilitation after surgery and daily living. It's invaluable help that allows cancer patients to focus on recovery, not bills.
Because in illness, even the smallest support becomes the breath that restores peace.
