It was not the opponent on the field that proved most dangerous
Until recently, Daniel played in the colors of Trefl Sopot's youth team. He felt confident on the court, with a season ahead of him, training, and plans that included no breaks. The pain, which initially resembled an overload or a simple injury, slipped out of the pattern of typical sports injuries. Over time, the pain grew worse, requiring further consultations and extended dignostics.
The result came as a shock! Malignant neoplasm of the heel bone.
This diagnosis, was not only medical, but also a symbolic end to a stage of life so far.

Amputation or chance abroad
In Poland, doctors see no other option than amputation of a limb. For an athlete who has tied his entire life to movement, training and competition, this is not only a physical drama, but also the loss of all the plans that until recently seemed obvious.
Hope has been brought by consultations with Israeli specialists, who are ready to perform a procedure to save the leg. The operation is possible, but expensive - more than $76,000, or more than $400,000, including the stay and further medical care.
It's not about comfort, it's about the future
Daniel cannot wait. With this type of cancer, time is one of the most important factors. With each week, the tumor can grow larger, and the surgery proposed today may no longer be feasible in a while.
The price of a chance to save a leg and a life
The operation, which can be performed by specialists in Israel, is the only viable alternative to amputation. Its cost exceeds 400 thousand zlotys, as it includes not only the surgery itself, but also complementary treatment, stay in the clinic, consultations and subsequent rehabilitation. For DAniel, this is not a decision that can be postponed. The tumor is progressing. Every day of delay could take away the chance he still has today!
