Less than four years and a diagnosis that changed everything
It started innocently, just before Christmas. First, a urinary tract infection and severe pain in the lumbar region. Antibiotics were supposed to solve the problem. After a few days, another infection appeared, this time in the upper respiratory tract, accompanied by a rash. A week later, another wave came: fever, vomiting, and severe pain in the arm.
Her parents thought it was the result of her falling off the sofa the day before. They took her to the emergency room. Surgically, everything was fine, but her blood test results were very bad. Initially, they were told that it was "probably a virus." However, her results did not improve. After a week, Tosia was transferred to the hematology ward. A bone marrow test led to a diagnosis: acute B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.
Hospital instead of childhood
Tosia has already undergone two bone marrow biopsies under anesthesia, two lumbar punctures, and a Broviac catheter insertion procedure (January 23, 2026). She is scheduled for another puncture in the near future. The treatment plan has been drawn up for two years.
Tosia is currently undergoing her first treatment protocol and has already received four rounds of chemotherapy and two rounds of targeted intra-canal chemotherapy. Her body is beginning to show the first signs of complications, which are currently being diagnosed. Tosia spends most of her time in the hospital. She has only been home for a few days. She is in the ward with her mother, and her father commutes every day to be with his daughter, even if only for a moment.
The family lives in complete isolation—they cannot even meet with their loved ones. For Tosia's siblings, the diagnosis was a huge shock. There is fear, longing, and daily questions: "When will Tosia come home?" Every day is spent between the hospital and home. More tests, IVs, fatigue, and pain that a child less than four years old has to face. Added to this is the uncertainty of the results and constant vigilance at their daughter's bedside.
A little girl with great strength
Despite her illness, Tosia is still a child. She loves to paint, play with creative art supplies, do puzzles, play ball, and play board games. She likes to watch cartoons and play with her sisters. These moments remind us how much she deserves a normal, carefree childhood.
The funds raised will be used for: travel to the hospital and consultations, medicines and supplements, hygiene and dressing supplies, a specialized diet, rehabilitation after treatment, and the costs of hospital stays. Every donation is a real help in this long, two-year fight for Tosi's health. Thanks to you, the family will not be alone in this struggle.
