The quiet beginning of a great threat

The story of Antoś began inconspicuously. Ot ordinary runny nose, which, after all, happens to every child. However, day by day the little body grew weaker. There was no fever, no cough, just a quiet anxiety that grew with each passing hour. After a medical consultation, antibiotic therapy was started, hoping that this would help control the suspected inflammation. Unfortunately, instead of improving, Antoś's condition rapidly deteriorated hour by hour. His speech became less and less clear, until eventually it became difficult to understand what he wanted to say.

A diagnosis that left no illusions

After a series of tests and a CT scan came the news that took away the peace of mind of the entire family in an instant. On March 29, Antoś was taken to Cape of Hope, where the diagnosis was made: diffuse non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the Burkitt type located in the nasopharyngeal region.
The tumor grew rapidly and brought new complications with each passing day. Problems with breathing, speech, swallowing, and finally dislocation of the temporomandibular joint.

A fight that is still going on

Thanks to chemotherapy, the tumor has begun to shrink, but this is not the end. Ahead of Antoś are more treatment cycles, more tests, more days full of anxiety. The little body is not only fighting the disease, but also the debilitating side effects: for a month now Antoś has been on parenteral nutrition, he has undergone a fungal infection, he runs a fever almost every day.
