Current stage of treatment
Ola is currently undergoing the third and final stage of chemotherapy – protocol 2. This is the final stage, but also one of the most difficult stages of the entire treatment. It is scheduled to end at the end of February. In recent weeks, her health has deteriorated significantly. Her body, weakened by months of intensive therapy, has to cope with the severe side effects of chemotherapy. Every day is a huge effort for her.Despite this, Ola does not stop fighting.
Each passing day brings her closer to the end of her treatment—to the moment when she can return to a world without hospital rooms, IVs, and fear. To a world where she can simply be a child.Hope
Ola is on the home stretch of this difficult journey. We all believe that the day will come when the hospital bell will ring—a symbol of victory over illness and the end of treatment. Until that day, her fight continues. Every bit of support, every thought, and every kind word is part of this journey. February 5, 2026Ola during the M protocol
Ola entered another extremely demanding stage of treatment. After completing Consolidation, she began Protocol M, which is based on intensive chemotherapy infusions lasting several days. This therapy puts a heavy strain on her body and leads to further hair loss. which for a five-year-old girl remains an exceptionally delicate experience, carrying with it a sadness that is difficult to describe. Each cycle lasts five days and requires a constant connection to the equipment, which is why Ola spends most of her time in bed. Surrounded by stuffed animals and her favorite books, she seeks a semblance of normality that allows her to take her mind off the rigors of therapy, at least for a moment. The intensity of the treatment saps her strength and at the same time forces her to find new reserves of perseverance, as if each day presented her with a new, difficult task to overcome. The coming months
If the treatment goes according to plan, Protocol M will remain in force until the end of 2025. Then the doctors will introduce the next stage of therapy, which is equally demanding and stressful for such a young body. Ola currently lives between the hospital and home. Her severely compromised immune system means that every day is an exercise in mindfulness, as even a minor infection can turn into a serious threat. Returning home brings her a little respite, but everything still takes place in the rhythm of the tender vigil required by such intensive therapy. It is a time full of unspeakable worry and anxiety. Ola needs support so that she can continue her treatment without any delays and look forward with hope to the next stages that will bring her closer to health. December 4, 2025
Explore the history of
Interrupted daily life
Weakness, constant headaches, pale lips, and grayish skin—this is how the disease first manifested itself at the end of June 2025. Ola's condition deteriorated rapidly from day to day, until she finally had to be hospitalized immediately in the hematology ward at Przylądek Nadziei in Wrocław.
After three days, a biopsy was performed and chemotherapy was started immediately. In an instant, the world of a five-year-old girl and our entire family came to a halt.
Instead of kindergarten, fun, and carefree days, there were hospital rooms, medical equipment, and treatment that was to last many months. Each cycle of chemotherapy became a struggle for health, strength, and another day.
The beginning of the battle
Chemotherapy was a huge challenge from the very beginning. Ola's body had to face intensive treatment, which gradually took away what had been a natural part of her childhood. Her beautiful, childish hair began to fall out. She became tired and weak, spending long days in a hospital bed. Despite this, Ola remained herself. She was still able to smile, cuddle her favorite teddy bears, and find joy in small things. Her childlike strength and courage gave us hope every day.
A family torn apart by illness
Ola's mom and dad take turns watching over her, while trying to make sure the other kids feel safe. It's a tough time for our whole family. Ola has a twin brother, Mateusz, and an older sister, Oliwia. Mateusz, who had been inseparable from Ola since birth, had to learn how to live without her for the first time. Although he can spend time with her, their life together now requires extreme caution. Due to Ola's severely compromised immune system, any infection can be a serious threat to her. The disease has changed our everyday lives. It has taught us to live between home and hospital, between hope and fear, between faith and uncertainty.
Next steps in treatment
In the following months, Ola underwent further stages of intensive chemotherapy. Each of them was a huge strain on her body. There were better days and more difficult days. Days of hope and days that required enormous strength from her and from us. Long stays in the hospital, endless tests, chemotherapy infusions lasting many days — this became part of her everyday life. Despite this, Ola showed extraordinary courage every day.
