Update
Olek's struggle to recover is very difficult and uneven. In September 2024, he suffered another painful blow – the cancer returned in both lungs. A multi-stage chemotherapy treatment began immediately, followed by planned surgery. If everything goes according to plan, the next step will be to introduce oral chemotherapy, which is unlikely to be reimbursed. Our patient is still at risk of the disease returning due to a rare and genetically determined predisposition to cancer – Li-Fraumeni syndrome. The costs of purchasing medication and constant trips to hospitals and doctors are consuming enormous amounts of money. In addition to the above, after completing treatment, Olek will require long-term rehabilitation of his previously operated leg, which has now been interrupted by the recurrence of the disease. In addition, the boy's mother is also under constant oncological supervision due to her illness at the same time as her son. We kindly ask for your support for Olek and his steadfast family in the next round of this extremely uneven battle! Every donation will help our Warriors cover the necessary and increasing costs associated with fighting the disease. September 24, 2024REISSUE!
In the fall of 2025, Olek began studying early childhood and preschool education at WSGK in Kutno. It was a conscious step toward the future and an attempt to rebuild his everyday life after his previous experiences with illness.
However, this phase proved to be short-lived. Illness once again entered his life, brutally interrupting what was just beginning to fall into place.![]()
Hip surgery and painful complications
Olek's health has clearly deteriorated. It has become necessary to removal of the reinforcement plate from the previously operated hip. The decision was made due to suppuration in the operated area and increasing pain, which was increasingly limiting daily functioning.
After the procedure, the following appeared serious complications. Drop foot on the operated side and its paresis. forced Olek to start moving around with crutches and a brace. Intensive daily rehabilitation was implemented, which, according to doctors' estimates, will last about a year and become a permanent part of his day.Disturbing results of follow-up tests
At the end of November 2025, the following was completed: follow-up CT scan of the lungs. The result brought further, very difficult information. A cancerous lesion has been detected.
In December, Olek underwent surgery on his left lung. The histopathological examination confirmed the worst-case scenario. Osteosarcoma.75 percent of cancer cells
After the procedure, it turned out that as many as 75 percent of cancer cells remained in the body. This means that further intensive treatment and subsequent cycles of chemotherapy are necessary. which will once again subordinate their entire lives to the fight for health.
In parallel A decision was made to perform specialized genetic testing of the tumor material. These are studies that offer the chance to find a treatment that can slow down the development of further metastases. Unfortunately, they are not reimbursed, and their cost is a huge burden for the family, which has been dealing with the financial consequences of the illness for a long time.
This update shows that this fight is still ongoing and requires unimaginable determination, strength, and outside support.
Thank you for being with Olek and his family during this difficult time. There are many ways to help. Every gesture matters, and each one helps Olek keep going despite the successive blows dealt by his illness.January 20, 2026
Olek is very bravely continuing his fight for a healthy and better future. He will soon come of age and enter the next stage of his life. Due to the genetic burden of a rare and genetically determined cancer predisposition syndrome - Li-Fraumeni - our protégé is fighting a really unequal battle with the disease. He has already undergone several surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a host of other medical procedures, and it's still not over. His story is best described by Olek himself, who would like to share his current situation with you: "I am Olek. I'm turning 18 this year in September. For the past three years I have been struggling with cancer - osteosarcoma. I'm being treated at the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw. In the course of treatment, it turned out that I am burdened with the Li-Fraumeni gene. I have been operated on several times - I have already undergone lung surgery, shin and hip reconstruction. I have been treated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Throughout this period I have been and continue to be rehabilitated. I often come for check-ups and consultations. I recently passed to the 4th grade of High School. I have remote individual teaching, but I am coping, although I often lack contact with my peers. However, I understand that any infection puts me at great risk. Thanks to long-term and expensive rehabilitation, I am beginning to walk again, for now with the help of a single crutch. However, the operated limb is still far from fully functional. It is advisable to continue improving it. Frequent trips to Warsaw, rehabilitation, check-ups and medical consultations are significant costs for my family. All the more so because my Mom also has an oncological disease. Medical costs consume most of our income. Due to the burden of the aforementioned gene, I live in constant uncertainty and fear that the disease will not return. I know that it is possible, but after all, I was called a WARRIOR, so I will fight until I win!" - Olek As you can see, our Warrior is extremely determined to keep fighting, despite enormous difficulties and obstacles! We encourage you to support Olek, who has really gone through a lot to overcome the disease. Let's not let it all go to waste! August 24, 2024

Unfortunately, 10 months after the previous oncological treatment, related to Osteosarcoma (osteosarcoma, osteosarcoma), a malignant cancer of the tibia, the cancer returned with redoubled force.
Metastases have appeared in the lungs and hip, putting great doubt on the results of months of exercise and rehabilitation of the operated leg. The young Warrior is facing this type of treatment for the third time in his life. When he was just 6 months old, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After chemotherapy, he was implanted with a ventriculo-peritoneal valve, which was replaced three times in the later years of his life.
Cancer has left significant consequences in the form of childhood autism, the effects of which Olek still faces today. He needs specialized psychological and pedagogical care and therapy, as well as support from family members in self-care and coping with emotions. Therefore, the most appropriate and the only possible form of learning for Olek at that time was one-on-one teaching, taking place remotely via the Internet.
Knowing the magnitude of the unpleasant consequences of online learning for all children and adolescents during a pandemic, we can imagine how the lack of social support from peers and teachers, as well as the need to protect his health from infections, affect the mental condition of Olek, who - as he himself emphasizes with incredible maturity - feels much older and experienced than his age would indicate.
Despite his autism, Olek is very aware that he could die, as doctors starting at age 16 talk to him as if he were an adult, informing him of the diagnosis and treatment options.
All of this causes him to face the mental pain of touching the boundary of life and death too soon, and his reflections indicate a maturity that many adults are unable to achieve.
Despite the plans agreed with the school management for individual teaching at home, in lively contact with teachers, and even a possible return to the school environment, unfortunately, due to the double metastasis of the cancer and the chemotherapy that has begun, even remote lessons are held sporadically. In the near future, Olek faces continued chemotherapy, surgery and probably a long and arduous rehabilitation.
Our hero's family situation is not easy and very complex, as at the same time Alexander's mother, who, along with her son, is burdened with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome, a rare genetic predisposition to cancer, is facing cancer. The costs associated with treating such atypical cancers are very high and beyond the means of Olek's family.
Medications, dietary supplements, travel to the clinic, planned rehabilitation - all of these have to be paid for, and Olek's treatment can only be reimbursed from the National Health Service to a certain extent. Every opportunity, even the smallest one, to support a collection to save the life of our Warrior will bring him relief from pain and hope to save his promising young life.
