Immunotherapy works
After months of uncertainty and dramatic decisions - there is finally a spark of hope. Immunotherapy is showing results.Veronica is just finishing her last four-week dose of the drug Blincyto. The treatment, which only a few months ago was the only chance, is now showing its power.
But it's not over yet.
As early as August, Veronika will return to the ward to undergo three treatment protocols - each of which will last nearly a month. With small breaks, she will spend the following weeks within the hospital walls, undergoing intensive therapy. This means more commuting, more days of struggle and waiting - for the results, for the body's reactions, for the longed-for end of treatment. This road still requires strength, patience and support - including financial. If you can, stay with Veronika a while longer. June 30, 2025 Blincyto treatment is effective, but involves very frequent visits to the Cape. June 5, 2025

A beginning that looked like an end
On October 14, 2024, Veronica was so weakened that she was unable to get out of bed. She suddenly fainted, and her body grew weaker by the minute. When urgent blood tests were performed, it turned out that her hemoglobin level had dropped to a value bordering on life-threatening. A dramatic struggle against time began. Veronika was immediately transported to a hospital in Jelenia Gora, where transfusions were started, although their effect did not bring the expected improvement. Each day brought more questions than answers.
Three hours of silence and diagnosis
Doctors were helpless. Thrombocytopenia was suspected, then aplastic anemia. Suspicions multiplied, but no diagnosis explained the drama that was unfolding in the girl's body. After a week Veronica was again taken to Cape of Hope. There, a bone marrow biopsy was performed. Three hours later, the diagnosis was made : acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Ineffective chemistry
Veronika went through classical chemotherapy, which did not have the desired effect. The body, unfortunately, did not respond to the introduced treatment. The rescue to stop the disease was the introduction of immunotherapy.
Veronica's daily life also needs support
Veronica needs support not only for treatment. Equally important are funds for travel to the hospital, proper diet, supplementation, hygiene and medical supplies. Helping her means giving her not only a chance at health, but also freedom from the constant worry of what is yet to come.
