The final stage of radiation therapy!
Szczepan is slowly nearing the end of his radiation therapy. The treatment proved to be extremely demanding and very exhausting for him. Painful complications arose, including mouth sores and burns, which necessitated a temporary suspension of both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It was also necessary on two occasions Rescheduling of radiation therapy due to facial swelling and excessive pressure from the mask. He is currently receiving strong pain medication. Everyday Life and Support from a Little Friend
Every day involves commuting to the hospital and back home. In total, that’s about 5 hours on the road. It’s an effort that has to be made every day, no matter how you feel. Recently, Szczepan’s dream dog came into his life to keep him company during these difficult times. His presence means the world to me. It’s thanks to him that it’s easier to get up every day and try again. March 25, 2026
Relapse of the disease!
At the end of December, based on the results of magnetic resonance imaging and tomography, Szczepan's cancer recurrence was confirmed. This information means that further intensive therapy is necessary.
Change in treatment – a new stage of therapy
The medical team decided to change the chemotherapy regimen. At the same time, Szczepan began radiotherapy. Combining these methods increases the chances of successful treatment, but at the same time places a huge strain on the body.
Treatment is becoming increasingly demanding
The current stage of therapy is associated with severe fatigue and significant weakness. This is a time that requires particular physical and mental endurance and constant care. In the face of the recurrence of the disease and intensive treatment, Szczepan still needs our presence and support. February 20, 2026

"In an instant, all our plans were gone. All that remained was fear and the feeling that the ground was slipping away from under our feet," recall the parents.
In the summer, the world shook

No one connected the initial signs with a suspected life-threatening illness in the child. It was only when detailed diagnostics began that Szczepan's world and that of his loved ones began to rapidly shrink. More tests, more consultations, increasingly difficult conversations, and growing tension that could no longer be drowned out by the hope that it was only temporary. And then the diagnosis came. One sentence that shattered their everyday life into pieces.

Rhabdomyosarcoma. Malignant tumor of the soft tissues of the parameningeal region. Stage IV. Affected lymph nodes. Metastases to the lungs.

This tumor cannot be removed.

The tumor turned out to be inoperable. Doctors were unable to remove it surgically. The only treatment option was intensive chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy.

Treatment began immediately. Szczepan has already undergone five cycles of chemotherapy. A Broviac central catheter and a PEG feeding tube were inserted because his body needs constant, specialized support to have the strength to endure the therapy. This treatment, which can be extreme even for adults, For a child, it is a burden that cannot be described in words.

You look at your child hooked up to IVs and all you can think about is whether they will have enough strength to make it through another day.
The strength to fight that breaks your heart

Szczepan endures treatment with extraordinary courage. Without serious complications, without dramatic complications, as if he were trying with all his might to prove that he is not going to give up. However, this does not mean that it is easy.

These are long days and nights spent in hospital rooms, followed by infusions, tests, and exhaustion that saps energy. One of the parents had to put their career on hold completely to be with Szczepan in this fight. The family's daily life has been subordinated to the disease, because cancer leaves no room for half measures or compromises.

"You can't be a part-time parent to a sick child. Either you're there for them, or everything falls apart."
Why we are asking for help

Szczepan's treatment is a long and exhausting process. It involves not only chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but also constant transport to treatment centers, rehabilitation to regain strength, and daily costs that increase with each week of the fight.

This fundraiser has one goal: to give Szczepan a real chance for further treatment and the best possible quality of life during therapy. To relieve the burden on his family, who have already done everything in their power and now need support so that they are not left alone in this fight.

Szczepan is 10 years old and instead of enjoying a carefree childhood, he is fighting for his life.
Your support can ensure that he is not alone in this fight.
