The family doctor initially thought it might be a cyst and reassured him that there was no cause for alarm, issuing a referral to an orthopedist.

Due to the distant date of the appointment, the parents opted for a private orthopedic consultation.

During an ultrasound examination, the orthopedist detected a tumor and recommended immediate further tests, suspecting cancer. Detailed diagnostics performed in Lodz confirmed the presence of a cancerous lesion. Przemek was immediately referred to the oncology department at the Warsaw Institute of Mother and Child.

There, further tests were performed, including a biopsy, which yielded a difficult-to-accept diagnosis - Fibromatosis aggressiva of the soft tissues. Chemotherapy was started to shrink the tumor so that it could be surgically removed. Unfortunately, the tumor responded poorly to the treatment - it shrank only slightly, which made it necessary to consider changing the chemotherapy used to a more effective one.

The disease has affected the boy's daily life - a paresis of the left foot has appeared, which makes movement very difficult. The treatment used causes numerous side effects, such as hair loss, weakness of the body, lack of appetite and weight loss.

The funds raised will be used for ongoing treatment, intensive rehabilitation, travel to the hospital, the purchase of medications, dietary supplements and a proper diet. It will also be necessary to purchase a specialized orthosis to aid mobility. In addition, the funds will allow the purchase of teaching aids that will enable Przemek to continue his education remotely.
