Next stage of treatment at Cape of Hope

On October 29, Michael arrived at Cape Hope to begin the "M" protocol, used to treat B-ALL and T-ALL. The treatment went as planned, but after the chemotherapy was administered, there was a drop in platelets and hemoglobin levels. Blood and platelet transfusions were necessary. After stabilizing the parameters, Michael was discharged home.

A brief moment of respite
The joy of return, however, did not last long. Already 1On November 0, after a routine morphology test, the platelet values were again found to be too low. Michael had to return to the Clinic, where another transfusion was performed. Doctors confirmed that These are complications after intensive chemotherapy.
The need for hospitalization
At the moment Michael once again has to stay in the hospital. Doctors aim to stabilize blood parameters so that treatment can continue according to the protocol. The entire "M" therapy cycle lasts 56 days. If the results allow, the protocol will be completed as planned, and the medical team will begin further acute chemotherapy treatment. November 13, 2025

Disturbing symptoms

Day by day, Michael's face was losing its childlike flush, and daily life was increasingly disrupted by leg and joint pain. Concerned parents asked for a referral for blood tests. The parameter indicators were merciless. Doctors made an immediate decision to consult them in a specialized center. This is how Michael ended up at the "Cape of Hope".

The burden of diagnosis

Diagnostics initiated at the clinic confirmed the worst fears. The test results brought a diagnosis that required immediate action - acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Michael's life today is a struggle for every day of his childhood.

In an instant, the family's daily life was rearranged and Michael's life was subordinated to treatment procedures. They brought hope, but at the same time required tremendous strength to face their hardships. From that moment on, every day became a struggle for the future.

Treatment in the Cape

Since July 7, Michael has been in the clinic. Each day is subordinated to medical procedures. He is set by the rhythm of tests, IVs and waiting in between. It's in these brief moments of interruption that the boy tries to retain scraps of normalcy, if only for a moment.

Family in the shadow of illness

Illness always affects the whole family. Life is divided between home and the clinic, between care and longing, between trying to be in two places at the same time. Waiting at home is older sister Gabrysia, who misses, worries and struggles to bear the knowledge that her brother is struggling with such a serious illness. She, too, needs attention and support, as this situation marks not only Michael, but everyone close to him. The burden of the disease is enormous, but the family, although strained, tries to carry it together without losing their bond and strength.

Every gesture of support is a step towards ensuring that Michael's childhood is not written with pain, but with the light of hope.
