Maintenance treatment and regular check-ups
Łukasz is still undergoing maintenance treatment. Every three months, he comes to Cape of Hope for comprehensive check-ups. A chest CT scan, X-ray, densitometry, and detailed blood count are performed. At this point, the test results are good and do not cause concern among doctors, which is a huge relief after a long and difficult treatment.
A side effect that changed everyday life
At the same time Łukasz is struggling with a serious complication following chemotherapy, namely avascular necrosis of the bone. The disease causes severe pain, hinders mobility, and significantly limits daily functioning.
Remote learning instead of everyday school life
Łukasz is currently in his fourth year of high school. Due to health conditions and mobility limitations cannot attend school with their peers and is studying remotely. This is another area where the disease continues to affect his life, despite the completion of intensive cancer treatment.
Rehabilitation as the only way forward
At this point The only recommendation for treating avascular necrosis of the bone is very intensive rehabilitation. It allows for at least a temporary reduction in pain and an improvement in quality of life. It is still a difficult road, requiring enormous determination, patience, and support. Thank you for being with Łukasz and accompanying him at this stage of his fight for normality. December 16, 2025 Łukasz is undergoing maintenance treatment until the end of March, but he is struggling with avascular necrosis of the bone – a complication of chemotherapy. He recently underwent rehabilitation using modern equipment, which brought him great relief. Massages and stretching proved to be beneficial, but doing the exercises on his own often ends in pain. In order to function normally, Łukasz needs regular rehabilitation, which helps him in his everyday life. February 20, 2025 Łukasz is battling a very painful and dangerous bone necrosis❗ Łukasz bravely survived the most difficult and demanding period of treatment and was finally able to go home. However, his fight for health is not over yet. He still has to undergo maintenance chemotherapy and visit "Przylądek Nadziei" (Cape of Hope) to flush excess iron from his serum. Follow-up tests have also revealed worrying side effects of the treatment in the form of avascular necrosis. This manifests itself, among other things, in difficulty moving and is also very painful. As a result, our Warrior should avoid putting weight on his hip joints to prevent them from becoming deformed. If this happens, surgery and endoprosthesis replacement will be necessary. The costs of treatment outside the clinic, private visits to doctors, and travel to hospitals are a huge burden on the family budget. Let's help this brave family overcome the next stage of their demanding treatment! They have already been through so much, let's give them a little more support! August 5, 2024

Luke had been feeling worse since the beginning of the month. The family doctor thought it was a common cold, and the boy needed to lie at home and drink warm tea.

Luke's condition was worsening, so at the next visit the doctor diagnosed the flu and prescribed painkillers and something for a cough. Exactly on March 8, Women's Day, when the boy began to have frequent nosebleeds, his parents decided not to wait any longer and went to the ED. There it was determined that Luke was not eligible for admission. Eventually, however, thanks to his dad's insistence and the elevated blood pressure the boy was found to have, he was admitted and comprehensive tests began. From that point on, things only got worse.

After less than 3 hours, doctors found fluid in the left lung and decided that immediate decompression was necessary. The whole family kept vigil all night by Luke's side. After the procedure, they began to examine the fluid from the lung. The very next day, the doctors informed the parents that a tumor had been found in their son's mediastinum. The family experienced shock, but the worst was yet to come.

On March 10, Lukasz was taken to a clinic in Wroclaw, where an accurate diagnosis was made - T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Only then did the heartbreak set in. Everyone in the family was devastated by the news and didn't understand why this was happening to Lukasz - a young, healthy, strong and loved boy. Doctors made the decision to administer chemotherapy.

Luke, supported by his loved ones, began a difficult battle that is still ongoing. There are ups and downs, but the family is holding strong and will not give up until the very end.

Thank you all for your willingness to help.
