Always ready to help, now she needs it herself

Lucyna is a woman who is impossible not to remember - warm, smiling, funny. For years she has been running a small store similar to a flea market, which for many has become a place not only for shopping, but also for conversation, support, a kind word. Her heart beats not only for people - she has always tried to help defenseless animals. Today there are three, already aged cats in her care, on which care requires a lot of commitment. But now it is Lucyna who needs support.

Cancer attacked suddenly

The beginning of 2025 brought something that could not have been predicted. Lucyna felt a strange pulling in her left arm, in the armpit area. Diagnosis -breast cancer with lymph node metastasis (HER2-low, hormone-dependent). Another different type of cancer was also found in the same breast, and a high-risk tumor in the other. This means only one thing: radical surgery and further treatment is necessary.

He struggles in silence. And tries not to lose hope

Despite the pain, anxiety and the burden of the diagnosis, Lucyna continues to smile. She takes care of her store, cares for her cats, and supports others, even though she is the one who needs help the most right now. She doesn't speak out about the disease - instead, she does her best not to lose herself. Today, she faces another decision: she wants to take a chance on immunotherapy supportive treatment in Germany. This is a huge opportunity for recovery. But also a huge cost - treatment, commuting, housing, job restrictions, and maybe even closing up store. Lucyna is also considering moving the therapy to another province to be closer to her daughter. That's another expense - for living, transportation, rehabilitation.
