Suddenly and extremely violently—that's how the disease struck.
Dizziness, visual disturbances, loss of consciousness, and seizures appeared unexpectedly in June 2025. The symptoms progressed at a rate that was difficult to explain by fatigue or stress. Thorough diagnostics ultimately led to the decision to perform a craniotomy and left occipital lobectomy on September 25. The brain tumor that was revealed occupied an area that could not be completely removed. The diagnosis was clear, brutal, and life-changing. Grade IV glioblastoma multiforme.
Life after surgery
The effects of the disease on such a young woman are dramatic. Aphasia deprived her of the ability to communicate with the world, and paralysis of the right side of her body confined her to a wheelchair. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and demanding rehabilitation became her new everyday life.
Every activity requires the presence of another person. Every movement is an effort. Everything that used to be natural and ordinary now requires planning, care, and enormous strength.
It is a life built around quiet existence. Not long ago, it was filled with books, travel, and caring for homeless animals at the shelter she had always loved. Today, these are memories that hurt because they are so close and yet so unattainable.
The family sticks with her every day
Kasia requires round-the-clock care. Traveling to chemotherapy appointments is only possible thanks to medical transport. Her loved ones now live according to her needs, balancing daily between fear and determination not to let the disease take everything away from her.
Her brother tries to be a source of support, although every return home is a painful encounter with a reality that no one could have predicted.
An opportunity for treatment abroad that cannot be missed
Standard treatment in Poland has come to an end. There is only one realistic option left that can prolong Kasia's life and give her a chance to continue fighting: immunotherapy in Germany.
The cost is approximately PLN 400,000. This amount exceeds the family's means, but at the same time it is the only chance to stop the disease that is taking away her time and agency with each passing month.
We believe that aid has a human face and that, thanks to you, we will be able to raise the funds that will allow it to continue fighting. We ask for your support before it is too late.
